North Routt Grooming?

I think SST uses the Seedhouse access for overflow from their operation on Rabbit Ears Pass. I doubt they've ran many tours up there, if any, this year. I noticed the trail was only marked to Diamond Park and it doesn't look like it had been groomed yet this year.

There's enough snow to groom everything now so the Steamboat Lake Snow Club will probably start sending the groomer over Farwell to Diamond Park and back.

Powder riders groom the rabbit ears area. Their groomer is stored up on the pass. I doubt sst will groom it unless they use it.

Actually, you need to contact the local clubs, NOT SST! The local clubs, like Powder Riders, are responsible for grooming, they receive the funds from the registration program, not SST. SST has their own groomers that are used for Hi-Mountain Snowmobile Tours and their business operation on the Ear's....

...SST has on numerous times, volunteered their time and equipment to HELP the clubs...the clubs do not own any part of the SST business.

I don't think Routt Powder Riders have done any grooming at Seedhouse in the last several years. If it will get done, it will probably be groomed by Steamboat Lake Snow Club.

The only reason SST would groom the trails at Seedhouse would be for their guests if they were doing tours there.

I guided for High Mountain before it was sold to the present owners. The park service, SLO and High Mountain Tours all pitched in to buy a new Piston Bully. The Park Service used it around the lake twice a week and we groomed from the lake over Farwell to Seed House and around Dome. SLO took care of Big Red Park and points north. I don't know if the agreement changed or what. Basically Steamboat Snow Tours bought the competition's name and Forrest Service lease and then use it as an overflow from the ears. They do very little up Seed House as far as grooming or tours.

The club up there is Steamboat Lake Snow Club. For snowmobile enthusiasts, the Steamboat Lake Snow Club grooms 156 miles of trails during the winter for motorized and nonmotorized use.
The Routt Powder Riders groom the ears/buff pass area only. If SST does groom up north it will be all volunteer on their part. They are not reimbursed for the grooming they do. They are a lot of help with the grooming on Rabbit Ears and with support of the local clubs.
