No start! 2018 M

Started just fine to get it off the deck, when I took it out of reverse to go forward all good but as soon as I put it into reverse again it stalled and can’t get it started. Tried pull starting 50times with no luck. The headlight will flicker when trying to pull is but won’t fire. I do have the upgraded tether so not the old tether issues. I also have the speedwerx handle bar kit so not sure if that is it?

I lost reverse with my soeedwerx handle bar kit. From the second I installed it no reverse?? On an 18 as well

Well I feel dumb, the sled fired right up this morning. Could it have flooded with taking it off the sled cold. Not sure if fuel injection could flood a cylinder

Possibly spark plug issues? Had similar issue a few years ago on stock new 18' wouldn't start at the end of the day parked by trailer went to start it to move in to trailer and it died going up the ramp. Changed the plugs and no more issues. I did notice the lights would flicker when pulling it over.

This happened to my 19MC a couple of times. I just disconnected the fuel pump and it would fire up every time.

I’ve seen this before. Usually a rare thing it’s only happened to me I think twice in the last 5 years kinda thing. It’s almost like while travelling to your destination one of the sensors gets really cold and wants to report a massive need for fuel. The sled fires and dies. Then you go to start and you will pull your guts out. Just about ruined my ride once, took me almost an hour to get the sled running. The next time this happened I just had someone hold the throttle and then we got it going in like 10 pulls. It’s like the opposite symptom that turbos used to have, they used to give false sensor numbers from heat soaking after the engine was shut down hot and we used to have to induce more fuel to get them goin(hot start switch)

Your sled was most likely flooded. When these engines are cold they need lots of fuel to run. Think about this you load the sled at home maybe runs for one minute, (lots of fuel) drive to mountain. Start sled cold (more fuel) unload, switching back and forth from reverse can be enough to make it stall with excess fuel. Flooded engine, I have seen this happen alot over the years less and less with fuel injection but it still happens. Any way you have the solution hold the throttle open and pull till she goes, make sure you have the tether attached no one need a run away.
