No spark

Had the sled out last week going up the trail and it started to die, it would fire right up then I would hit the throttle go maybe 20-30' and it would die again. Last time it died it wouldn't fire at all, pulled plugs and no spark to either cylinder.
I'm not sure where to start looking, maybe stator? I could really use some help on this on.

Just getting around to looking into it now... Looks like I sheared the 3 bolts off that hold the stator on to the crank case! Forgot to lock tight them I'm guessing.... Lesson learned

LOL.

dude this EXACT same thing just happened to my buddy yesterday.

i built him a TM3 and rode it last week and it RIPPED!! went to ride yesterday morning and started his sled in my driveway and then "click/click"...about shat myself...i swore it was a rod bearing..

pulled motor and had it completely disasembled in 2.5hrs on the DOT ;)

pulled pistons and nothing...then rotated recoil end and heard grinding and clicking...thought WTF.

pulled flywheel and bam...all 3 stator bolts were loose...and 1 of them was completely backed out and grinding againist the flywheel...fixed it up and assembled/installed engine sameday.

hoping to ride wed morning but not sure if he can go now :(

go lesson learned is RIGHT...NEVER trust that someone locktited or tighten ANY bolt...we bought the bottom end used with the flywheel/stator installed so we never bothered to check it out :face-icon-small-fro

glad to see you got yours on its way to ripping as well.
