No snow RECORD for DECEMBER

We are experiencing the least moisture for a December on record.

Reno said in a climate discussion today, that if they do not have any measurable precipitation through the end of this month ; it will be the 6th time that has happened since 1870.

There were 5 completely dry Decembers between 1870 and 1883. Currently not even a trace has been recorded at Reno Cannon AP. So, if it continues that not even a trace falls, that the last time that happened was 1883 or some 128 years ago!

Here in LA the locals have no clue where their water comes from.

In the city I live they want to raise everyones water bill $10 a month to subsidize the larger (privately owned) properties.

It sure is funny how people don't understand where that stuff comes from. What was the rest of the winter like in 1870 or do they have records of it?

We have at least a little snow, about a foot and a half. It is our dryest dec. in a long time also. It seems to be that way all over the west. ? The last time I remember a low snow Dec. We got hit hard in early Jan. And I mean Hard. I am sick of this!

Here is an interactive link for Mammoth Lakes California going back to 1969.

Look at the mid 70's for little snowfall ... under 100 inches for the season with most snow JAN-MAR

76-77 was unreal holly cow. Hope we don't get another one like that.

Thats the same season I was looking at.

Down in Mexico, they put 55 gal drums under their gutter downspout. I heard S. Cali was next to adopt this technology.

I seen our records yesterday, the lowest recorded before this yr was .88 inches of rain in Dec. forget the yr. This Dec. it is at .10 inches of rain for the month so far. Makes it hard to own a new sled.
