no headlights

I'm going to install bdx headlight removal kit i thought when you do this you have to do something with power going to headlights they say it will burn up the ecu i also will not have a tail light.

Is there a question in your statement? Or are you just letting us know that your going to delete your lights?

I had a question on this topic also. I know on M7's you'll burn up your ECU without headlights.

On a M7 would it be alright just running 1 headlight with 1 BDX headlight delete?

Anyone ever tried this?

only a problem with the m7, the m8 or 1000 will run fine without either a headlight and or taillight.

if your not worried seeing with your lights, go to walmart and get 2 55 watt lights, and mount them to the airbox. you will pull the wattage and they will be out of the way. make sure you wire them into the high and low beam just incase you hit the switch.

Youll need the resisitor for the 07 m1000. 08, and 09 need no resistor. Irun the BDX delete on my 06 m7 with a 100watt resistor from boondockers and no resistor on my 09 m1000. Klimbing Kitty put me onto these.

Wait a minute, I thought you could run an 07' M1000 without resistor.
Ran my 07' M1000 1800 miles last year with BDX delete, no resistor, no issues.

Something looks wrong with your M7???? Nothing looks bent???!!!!!......:D

Could it be that the O7 M1 You ran had the reflash?? Maybe you only need the resistor if you didn't reflash? Just a thought.

???? Anyone ????

Every 1000 I rode with the last 2 years from "07" had a resistor of some sort set up to accomadate either a no hood day or headlight delete. I was also out on a ride where a 07 1000 shutdown due to ecu/stator issues becuse of a roll over where the hood was destroyed and the fella rode the rest of the day like that. My guess is the 07 needs a resistor and you got lucky or something has been changed on yours.
