friends sled ran then quit. Put gas into cylinder and and it fired right up. Put juice to prime fuel pump and it just clicks. Like it already has pressure. Could it be in the TPS or would it be a fuel pump issue

I think you fuel pump is bad it should run not just click because it circulates the fuel all the time thats why it has a return line going to the tank

now what?

That'd be me your talkin' 'bout. Got it in the shop and first jumped 12 volts to the fuel pump prime harness. Just get a faint click which is what I thought should happen is there is pressure in the system. So then I unhook the pressure line and put power to the fuel prime harness again and get a strong flow of fuel. Put the line back on and again start the fuel pump and let it pump for 20-30 seconds. But I never really hear the pump pull down like there's pressure. I cut power to the pump and then give it power again and it starts up. If I understand right the pump should not start if there's pressure in the system. However, the sled starts right up and runs fine (idling...didn't drive yet).

I'm thinking fuel pressure regulator........because it didn't start the pump and now will not shut it off........???????????? Anyone?

quit again

Starting to get Polaris buyers remorse....maybe should have stuck with a cat.......

Since above post I've had the sled out on 3 short runs...40-50 miles total. The third this afternoon........and it quit again. I rode about 10 miles and the sled started acting up. Just like you hit the kill switch but on and off. Came out of it for a quarter mile and then just quite altogether.

Got home and suspecting fuel pump tried jumping the fuel prime harness.....nothing. Then took the pressure fuel line off and tried it again....nothing. Then unhooked the harness where it comes out of the tank. Tried jumping 12 volts to the red and brown wires (thinking those are probably the same wires in the fuel prime harness) in that harness....nothing. I'm assuming bad fuel pump as sliderxc suggested.

Anything else I should look for? Thanks

Sounds like the stator. The stator has two sides, one to run the engine management and another to run the lights and grip warmers. When the stator starts to fail it will do as you described.

think I found the problem

After a couple hours of trouble shooting, examining wires and connections.... I'm 95% sure I've found the problem. It appears to be a bad (ground) connection in the 4 pin harness just outside the tank. I jumped 12V to the fuel pump prime harness today and it ran (yesterday it didn't). Started tugging and twisting on wires and I found when I would twist on that last connection, if I got it just right it would quit. Took the connection apart and straightened the pin, plugged it back in and now it appears to have a good connection. Can't make it short out no matter what now, so hoping that's it. Feel confident I've found the problem anyway.

FBF Tcable came today so might as well put that on too.

Does ride time ever catch up to repair time on these?
