No B.S. Please

No one in my group rides a 4 stroke, so I have no basis for comparison. I ride an 07 xrs 159 now and enjoy the handling and power, but am tired of the constant clutch issues. With all of the reports now of crank failures I am getting even more concerned with the reliability of my sled. I have a limited amount of time to ride, and I figure that for the cake I am spending on this sport I should be able to pull the cord (or press the button) and ride till time to go home. I am not a big high marker, but i need to be able to keep up with my buddies that are and at least get into the riding areas. I just like to boon dock around and ride in the mountains. I was on an 03 RNK 700 prior and had plenty of power, just hated the handling. Should I be considering a Nytro? If so will lightening it up be enough or will I need to boost it as well?
Thanks guys for your constructive posts....

I would say yes consider one. I let a couple of friends ride mine and they were all impressed. Think the sled has more ability than I do right now, except it is lacking in the suspension department for jumping.

Everyone is jealous about the key start though.

I think you would love the Nytro ,easy to ride ,quiet, runs cheap fuel, cheap on belts, cheap on oil,if you roll it,,,you don't have to have a gang guys to pull it over till it fires. It might not be the lightest,,,but you'll be riding every day.

I think you will be fine...weight was a big concern for me too coming from Doo like 3-4 years ago....Still have a couple of Doo mods, but, will never EVER buy a NEW 2 stroke again...

I had the same concerns and made the jump for power, consistency & reliability.
Very happy so far. Time will be the ultimate judge. Only MN time on it so far but with the way it handles and the grunt I'm confident I'll love it in the mtns. I am going to boost after this year. That was the plan when I bought it.

I purchased a phazer and a nitro. We road today in about three feet of powder. About 5 feet total. Island Park Idaho, two top. I let the other guys ride my nitro and the phazer and they were impressed. These are two stroke guys that race and modify their sleds. They couldn't believe how these two sleds did in the powder, climing, and boondocking.

You can not go wrong with the nitro. I read all the mags and cruised the forums before buying. I was scared to death to buy a heavy four stroke with less hp. I went with the yammies anyway because I wanted the most reliable snowmobile with the lowest hassle factor.

I am so glad I bought what I did. I am totally blown away with how well they do. You simply can't go wrong with the nitro mtx. It has torque. It is like a gas auto vs. a diesel auto. The nitro just pulls, it is totally awsome, and you don't need to lighten it or modify it in anyway. I'll never buy another two stroke again.

If you are trying to out do your old 700 Polaris buy a Nytro and forget the boost. You will love it and out perform the old sled.

Don't get me wrong boost is hard to beat, but given the mark you have set you won't need boost or light weight parts to meet it.

I am very impressed with our Nytros (one boosted one stock) and think you would be too.

I would go with the Nytro, litghen it up a bit and see how it does against all your buddy's. If they are kicking your *** and getting into areas that you are struggling with then add some boost. If you are hanging with them and are happy with the way the sled preforms then live it NA for a bit.

Fresh from the big 2-stroke mod world to a supercharged Nytro and loving everything about it so far. Some day it will all be 4 strokes, that is the way all the manufacturers of dirt bikes are going.

I bought a nytro knowing that I was going to put a turbo on it. I've now put over 400 miles on it stock and this little sled impresses me every ride.
Just low on power for my liking. Can't wait until the boost gets here.

FYI I have never ridden a Nytro but do ride a custom turbo RX-1. Most days I am the only 4-stroke in our group. I switched to 4-stroke for the extra insane power and will never switch back. If your not into that then stick to the lighter 2-stroke. As little as you ride reliability shouldn't be a concern and the extra weight just isn't worth it without a turbo. Just my .02

How Does The Nitro Compare To Xrs151

I Know That The Xp Is Lighter But Has Anyone Compared The 07 X Or Xrs Ski Doo To The Nitro In The Deep And Steep Powder?

He is spot on I was out on the t apex this weekend and I had a shot to ride a stock Nytro nice sled but without boost for me stay with the 2 stroke . But if you want insane power and turn key and go reliability the go boost with apex phazer or nytro. The boost will give you wood and keep a smile on your face for days.
