Nitto Trail Grappler

Hey everyone, its coming to that time now and am looking at getting some new tires. I have always ran the Nitto Terra Grapplers but I do like the looks of the Trail Grapplers. Is anyone running them and if so what is your opinion on them? How do they do in snow/ice. I have been hearing they wear good for an M/T tire, and are also quiet for the aggressive lug pattern. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

I have them on a 2006 Duramax. They have been great so far. I have D rated and haul a 4,000 lbs of a truck camper in the summer and sled deck in the winter. They seem to do well in the snow. I deflate a little bit for the winter. You have to be disciplined when it comes to rotating though.

Im thinking about getting the 295x70x18 for my powerstroke. How loud are they? The thing i like about these over the toyo m/ts are that they are siped, and not so rediculously priced!

Have them on my 99 f-350 and they have been one of the better tires that i ran for the weight of my truck. as Bugito said rotation is very important. shopped around for along time before i found these. have the 295/70/18 on my truck to.

Not near as loud as any MT's. They are louder than the Michelin LTX's I had. I thought they had a little noise until I heard a guy with MT's pass me. Wow, how can you guys do those MT's? I noticed that after I wore them a little, they got quieter. I rotated them and they were a little louder until they wore another 500 miles or so. Not bad tires for the money. People will come on and talk up Toyo's, BFG's, Goodyear's and a bunch others, but for the price these work well for me and look good.

Have had good luck with them and have seen them siped with excellent results. Might look at the Yokohamas also.

Hey do you have any pics of your setup? any rubbing issues? leveling kit im assuming. I think im sold on these, more aggressive than the terra grapplers yet good road manners for a M/T

will try to get some pics, yes on leveling kit and no on rubbing, you will like them. had 305s on before and they rubbed a little but not much but like this little smaller tire better. pm me your email and will get you some pics, dont know how to post them on here

I have the 295/70/18 on an 11 3500 Cummins. We got a dumping of new snow, at first I wasn't to impressed. On the ice they don't seem too good but not surprising from that aggressive of a tire. I've had BFG, TOYO, YOKOHAMA,BRIDGESTONE and COOPER, the noise level is better than all of those and is good for a mud tire but might differ on vehicle interiors. I had my truck up in the mountains hunting and got into a sticky situation climbing up a logging road with no way out but to get up and turn around on a side-hill, These things were awesome, bumper pushing snow they dug down and kept traction in fresh powder and got me out of a long walk back to civilization. Just got back from hunting with bro-in laws in 2 3/4 ton Chevy's with all season tires which should get around better but I was laughing my *** off as both theses trucks were getting stuck just pushing their pumkins through the snow on flat ground. That being said I am pleased with them, price was good, noise level decent, traction awesome, ice- ughhhh, looks awesome. Hope this helps

I have them on my 07.5 Cummins 3500 and I love them. Mine are 35x12.50 18's E rated. They are way better than the BFG's I took off. They are a little sketchy on the ice but in the deep snow and mud they are awesome. They look good and so far with about 9,000 miles on them they are wearing well too. They are a little louder than the BFG's but between having a diesel and a dodge, the tires aren't really the noisiest thing on the truck.

Here is my truck with the Nitto's (285's). You can see they carry a heavy load.

Like BugIto said before about tire psi, i think any tire will handle different on ice considering what they are aired up too, what do you have yours set at?

Is there any tire that really grips on ice? Unless it has chains or studs. I don't see to many tires being good on ice unless that is all they were designed for. now it if it is snowpacked down on the road how do they do on that?
