nitrous on the xp

BoonDocker NOS

I'll be running the Boondocker kit on mine. My problem is where to mount the 2.9lb. carbon fiber bottle since my SLP can is bigger than I thought it would be, and I have electric start. No, I'm not removing the battery, I'll figure something out. Subscribing to this thread to read what others chime in.

I'm working on a Custom Nitrous Express wet kit for my 08. In my opinion the wet kits are more consistent and therfore safer. I love nos on anything and I can see why most systems out there are dry (there lighter and easier to install). If my XP was injected dry would be ok but the dry carb systems I have heard about don't seem to be very consistent and are limited to how much power they can make. Just b/c they say it is a 50 hp shot doesn't mean it really is. Just my 2 cents.

Snoclo, let me know how the boondocker kit works for you.

Just wondering what nos kits people are running and what kind of luck u are having with it on the xp.
I put NOS on my 08 XP....It works for short blasts or for quick track speed in a steep Clim or in the deep and a little boost is needed. However if you hold the button for more the 4-5 seconds it tends to over rich-en and bog.......I've been trying to adjust it out but I think the DPM senses a load and pours the fuel and causes a over richening condition, Over all I like it. It's saved me lots of digging.:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

wich kit are you useing? What rpms are you runing without the nitrous and what happens when you hit the nitrous? Does it really make a big difference when you hit the nitrous?

thank you
jeremy

Did you say your going to use the can from your RT and use it in your XP????
Probably not a good idea. Flow characteristics change from can to can let alone for a totally different motor.

Boondocker,Yes it makes a big diff and about 400 plus rpms under heavy load

I spoke to a couple people about a few different systems and they were having hit and miss reactions with nitrous due to clutching, are you running anything special for clutching or just increased weights.

Hotboat, is it possible you are hitting the rev-limiter?? Makes it hit a wall when it cuts spark.

Hum......It seems to be a definite bog, the RPM limiter when reached is a sharper cut off of power. But you bring up and interesting point..........
