Nitrous on a Nytro?

Has anyone used nitrous (boondockers?) on their nytro? It seems everyone says to put on a turbo, But your mileage drops to approx 7 mpg, which really limits your range/day.It also is quite a bit more economical ($1000 ) compared to a turbo.

What about availability of nitrous, and what does it cost? I know it depends on how much you use it, but I don't need the extra power when boondocking, but when making a WOT run at a chute or steep spot it would be nice to have 50-70 extra horsepower.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Bondocker

I ran the Boondocker kit last year.. Worked good 50 Hp shot cheap HP but always run out too soon.. Got Boost for this year!!

Turbos actually increase fuel mileage unless you are into the boost.

They get great mileage going to and from while on the trail. Of cousre they do burn the fuel in climbs etc. but I am sure with a 50 hp nitrious shot you are burning a lot of fuel too.

You might be surprised that there may not be a lot of difference depending on how often you where planning on using the nitrous.

Pastor, how do you mean "not a lot of difference". Is that $$$ when using it? what is nitrous worth to fill a 3 pound bottle?
With nitrous you run 94 octane which you can get with pump hi-test and a little octane boost, but with a turbo aren't you supposed to run race fuel?:face-icon-small-con

Don't get me wrong , I love my turbo but in the end nitrous is way cheaper. Somebody had it all figured out on here and the average guy needs to run a nitrous setup for something like 8 years to pay for a turbo. Like was mentioned before it just runs out too fast, but if you go easy on it it's not a bad option at all. I ran a Boss system prior to turboing my sled. Obviously the turbos got lots of advantages but you gotta pay for it.

Can you elaborate?
I think what he's getting at is that a turbo makes the motor more efficient. So you may get a little better gas mileage, but as soon as you start poking at it, the turbo will not get as good gas mileage as a sled in stock trim.

I guess what I don't get is what makes a turbo more fuel efficient than a stock motor. Is it just increased airflow arcross all RPM ranges, including low throttle?
