Looking @ taking out Rad on Nitro. I have a boosted Nitro with CR Tunnel and cooler ! Any over heating issues here with Rad Out and just running a bottle.

Dootraxx on here has a 270 MCX with a CR type tunnel with a U-cooler and rad delete. On the throttle all day and never a issue. I would pull it. It gives you so much extra room and easier to work on. You'll get the skeptics but the proof is in the pudding !

My dads tnytro has rad delete, and it only has a mini u cooler in the back, not nearly as big as cr's and we don't have overheating issues, go for it.

Here is just something to consider. I don't think you would have any trouble running under normal conditions. However, I have had my temperature light come on twice. Both riding on the trail. Once in icy conditions and I forgot to put my scratches down. The other was coming down on the trail in the spring under marginal snow / bare spots. In both cases, the little fan on the rad was running. I had a stock tunnel at the time, but I am not sure the extra CR cooler would have helped in either of these cases.

So, in most cases, you will probably be fine with a rad delete, but I would be worried about the springtime conditions.

How much weight are you saving removing the rad and adding a bottle?

I deleted mine, i have MPI tunnel cooler's. I have been running mine allot in my garage with no overheating problems.

Call up Chad at CR and get him to send you the delete kit asap. I love mine. there is so much more room under the hood now. I even deleted the Yamaha over flow bottle with no issues. Even more room. never had an over heating issue yet. (knock on wood). I run a CR tunnel.

Thanks Pelon! Yes my CR bottle came and I sent it back, like you say way to $$$. I was searching for a bottle and was going to use one from a 800 Escape. Going with the Apex bottle now! Looks like a nice tidy set up! Thanks a bunch for the photo!

ditto on the thanks pelon!!! and it is nice to stick to yamaha parts too.

The thought of putting polaris parts on my sled.. :faint: I already have a skidoo jerry can.:face-icon-small-sho

Good idea to have a larger u-cooler installed if removing the rad, these things run hot already, furthermore with a turbo. Unless your constantly running in deeep BC powder your just asking for trouble in my opinion. Cooler motor = efficient motor.
