NGK BR9EIX plugs

anyone running them? was going to try them in my m8. sound like they are better then the BR9EYA's that come in the sled. little on the pricey side i see.

I haven't run them in my sled but I did in my 03 RM250. They are a bit snappier BUT I found that if you don't have your jetting or mapping in the sled's case, spot on, they foul very easy. I noticed my sled is fairly rich and as much as I'd like to run them, I'll save my self the money and frustration.

BR9EYA plugs are cheap and efficient. Iridium plugs are expensive and work better in the 4 stroke world, buy the y's.

hahah well too late. bought them already.

had a certificate from work that we won for $100 at crappy tire. so i went and bought some plugs and other things. $13 a plug. see if they work better.

I run the BR10EIX with NOS on my 1160. Lots of guys will run them with mods, less likely of the ground strap overheating with NOS, Turbo, or a really high reving motor, My old 900 got a rebuild due to the old BR9EYA's getting a hot ground strap and causing Detonation when on the laughing gas.

my $0.02 anyway.

There is probably no advantage on a stock engine, and for $13 a plug... I can change my EYA's often.

I have run them for a few years, zero issues, the advantage of them is less fouling due to the small electrode compared to the EYA's, you can get other plugs with a small electode but they can burn out, that is the advantage of the iriduim.

not that fouling is a big issue, but I have seen an m1000 foul plugs, I have had sleds in the past foul plugs, and I guess for the cost maybe its not worth it for the amount of times it happens, but in my opinion on the M series and the way you have to change plugs is such a pain, I'd rather run the iridium's and have no fouling. I have yet to foul an iridium plug.

The EYA's have a "v" in the electrode. This is specific to the EYA's. Is there a certain burn pattern that the A/C's need to have? They have been running these plugs since the dawn of time it seems.

right on NGK's website it says the BR9EIX are "premium" replacement plugs over the BR9EYA's for the Cat sleds.
