So what are you doing to your setup while the sun is hot?? I know they arent sleds so maybe no big mod builds. Working on getting it better setup for snow with fuel control, insulation, or thermostat? Maybe throwing some accesories on to hold all your gear, lights?? etc

Biggest mod for me this year is a new bike. I've had a new bike every season so I figure why break the tradition :D. I really loved the KX450F platform and I still think it is one of the top 3 snowbikes you can have, but I have decided to upgrade to the 13 KTM 450 SXF for horsepower reasons. It's now the top dog in the 450 market at 61HP with full exhaust. So, my setup will be...

2013 KTM 450SXF
Dobeck Gen4 Fuel Controller
Pro Circuit T5 Exhaust
KTM Thermostat
PMB Fastway Barkbusters, Adventure Footpegs, 2" Billet Risers
Rekluse Core EXP 2.0 with heavy wedges/springs (possible summer only)

I'm not sure if the Rekluse will go on this fall or until next spring. I will never again have another bike in the dirt without the Rekluse since it is without a doubt the most kick a$$ mod you can do to for a gnarly woods bike. The 450's are pretty much overkill for single track/non-motorcross but the Rekluse brings the best out of them and allows you to keep the bike under control in gnarled conditions. While the Rekluse Core EXP 2.0 might be mandatory in the dirt, they certainly aren't in the snow. They are VERY nice, but a luxury for sure.

Also I would like to get a Cyclops Penetrator 310 or 610 light bar but I'm not sure of the application for the 13 450 SXF yet. They are some seriously top notch light bars. Burns the bark off trees.

All new for me this year.

Starting with a new RMZ450
-2014 ST Mountain Horse
-Over sized custom made skid plate from SXS find them here:

-KTM thermostat
-Radiator braces
-Trail Tech Computer
-Cycra handguards
-FMF exhaust
-Rekluse Core EXP

Haven't decided on EFI control just yet, would like to hear more about the dobeck controller.

Tried to order from Facebook link but no reply. looks like a great skid for snow

Saving up for the Rekluse now. I live in Tahyua WA we have a lot of single track and the 450 just kicks my ***. Probably does not help I am 6 foot 250 lbs but when I get in Gnarly situations the bike is almost impossible to get through nasty steep rock climbs. I could ride my old xr400 through same stuff with Zero issues.

Full skid plates will be a custom order for now. They will do what ever you want, we're going to get together in the next few weeks to discuss what exactly us "snowbikers" need. I know he has done a full skid plate for a 11-13 yzf, so he has a template that would work for you.

I suggest sending them a message, tell them Darren from Moto365 sent you!

I'm doing a big two stroke.

-engine work
-custom pipe
-bored carb
-headlight
-carb heat
-building a wiring harness with deutz conectors to run it all. not these elect tape and butt connector specials. gonna use some nice switches from highwaydirtbikes.com on the handlebars to run it all.

It started off at 62 horse so we will see where it shakes out.

should be fun loading it on a sled deck. if it all works out my sled will end up as a spare i guess.
