newbe on nytro with boost

just wondering what race fuel i should use when i turn up the boost and just wondering how my nytro with turbo compares to an m1000 thats the sled i rode last year :)

Depends on what your turning it up to. I run 12 lbs on my T-Nytro and it is so much more powerful than the RT1000 I rode that it is not even close.

What setup are you running and what boost levels are you shooting for, a little more info and we can give you our advice but in the end what fuel you run is up to you.

Avgas is good for moderate boost levels with a headshim, 10 to 17 or 18lbs boost.

Race fuel, 110+ is good for say 18+ lbs of boost from what i have found. I run at sea level to 5k feet.

What setup are you running AV gas up to 18pnds? You think 15pounds would be safe on a Alpine front mount tapex w/ head shim?

nytro

well i have it set for 8 pounds of boost but i love to turn it to 12 or 13 pounds not sure about the head shim what is that all about not to sure about four strokes i rode two stroke my whole life so if i ask stuid questions bare with me so i would be safe with av gas to 14 pounds and iam running an pure logic efi box wth a nw turbo works garrett t25 turbo exhaust dumps out in tunnel 162 inch track with 2.5 inch paddle so i just hope i made the right decision two go 4 stroke thanks for any info i can get

the 25 is maxed at about 14-15lbs boost dont try to go over that with the gt 25 it will make more boost but it will also make allot of heat which causes deto.if it doesnt have the shim or timing changes 12lbs on av gas mite be max if it has timing done & shim it will do 14-15lbs no prob on av gas.at 14-15lbs it will scare you they are so much faster than a stock 1000 you wont beleave it till you try it.:D:beer;

thanks

thanks for the info very good to know iam going into this thing blind so thanks again and cant wait to go over turbo hill last year the m 1000 wouldnt do it :D

ditto on the 2860, it is probably the most popular one out there for the yammis. If you are running 12lbs you need to shim the head(put a head shim spacer and a new stock gasket on each side of the shim) to lower your compression ratio so you do not blow the motor. The best thing to do is go low comp pistions and better connecting rods, the sled with run cooler and more efficient not to mention the parts are much stronger. If you run a shim you can run 92 octane up to 12lbs pretty safely. Anything over that up to 15lbs you need 50/50 mix and above that straight racing fuel.
