New Years Ride 1-2-12

Made a quick trip with my Bro and buddy Scott. Was worth the drive. Here is a quick peak. Sorry no fancy music or editing just a quicky! There is more video but I will let my bro practice his editing skills with those.
Some pics too!

I'm not real familiar with the riding areas in Wyoming...Care to tell me (us) where this is? I am up for a road trip to get in some riding.
Thanks!

So would it still be worth the trip this coming weekend? How much snow is really there? I really need to get out and really ride my sled. This year is killing me. The parking lot doesnt look like there is all that much snow. Is there better snow once you get up there? Which way do you go from the parking lot? Looking at Google Earth I would guess North east. Are there any other parking areas south of that area to park and ride?

I can say the area is great for riding, looks like decent coverage too. Its probably 14-15 miles in on the trail before you get to the riding areas with that kind of snow depth. This year any further south and you will not have that much snow depth to ride.

Coverage wasn't bad up high....never hit a thing....it was plenty deep but unless they get snow before the weekend it will be garbage conditions. Top 12 to 14 inches was heavy heavy wet snow that by the end of the day had gone through a warming cycle and was stiffening up. Bottom 3 feet is sugar. Avy danger is crazy. I have footage of some shooting cracks while Jed was sidehilling and filming. I'll post it in a while....still editing : )

Great. Thanks for the additional info. I think I might be sitting at home for another weekend. Man this Blows.

We went to togwotee lodge last week, We didnt ride any trail at all really. Stay on the same side of the road as the lodge, head east for a mile or so bouncing in and out of the trees. The make your way north north east in the trees and up the mountain. GREAT snow on that side of the road. Or, cross the road and head east for a mile or so to the split in the trail and go south from there, get off the trail quick (at the first hill) and work your way up in those trees. Another GREAT area with very little if any trail riding. See my pics in the "found some powder" post here in the utah section. Also, they are supposed to get snow Friday - Sunday, I wouldnt hessate to pull the trigger again and head up there. The motel 6 in jackson is cheap and very nice.

Im heading up Thursday Night to ride friday all day. Never have I been to Wyoming so it will be a first. Staying in Jackson with a buddy so if anyone wants to ride in that general area let me know, we can meet up. Better than going in blind.
