NEW XP Great SLED!!!!!!!!!!

I have a new XP with a 163 Track and simmons skies. I simply have a new favorite sled. No problems with belt. I was riding it in 3 to 4 feet of powder for about 40 of the 60 mile ride. It got hot once but my 06 sled would have been hot after what we had just done. Just thougth I would let every one know. It is a great sled easy to ride and great power.

Do you like the Simmons and please compare them to the Pilots?

I do I am a smaller guy 5'6 150. THey are easier to pull the sled over and for anyone a lot easier to controle the size of your turn. I read some guys were having problems getting the sled to side hill, I think they are nuts or standing on the wrong side of the sled when they are pulling it over.

I couldn't agree more. I have the same sled. 200 miles on the original belt and it still looks like new. I love the way this thing climbs and carves through the deep powder. :D

One of my riding buddies has Simmons on his identical XP 163. We have traded sleds often and noticed that the pilot skis will dive in the powder while carving or side hill if you don't counter steer a little bit. The Simmons skis do not require counter steering.

The extra flex of the Simmons will pay for themselves in front end damage each time you smack those hidden stumps and rocks:beer;

This is one reason I just bought a pair, the Pilots hook everything under the snow.

I just installed and offset the skis inward to make the sled narrow as possible. I was told that the simmons should be install centered, anyone with an opinion on this?

Yes its a great sled, But You WILL Break belts!! I thought the same, had near 300 miles, then BOOM! A friggin mess of strings! I mean I am used to getting 8-1200 :beer;miles from a belt. And Keep Checkin those Y pipe Bolts, They come loose. I was riding last weekend and my buddies XP Lost power on a hill climb and got really Noisy! He lost 6 out of 8 Y pipe bolts, and only had 350 miles on the sled.. Another part to keep in the backpack, I now carry 4 extra.. The sled is a Bad Machine, dont get me wrong.. Just Carry a tow rope with ya!

350 miles and love mine!!!

No problems and i've been running the $hit out of it, and i'm 6'3" 260lbs with all my gear on.

One of my belts had a cord break but a little sugury to it and she back to normal!!!

Great sled and i'm glad I didn't get somthing else.

Chaz

Has any one pulled their sway bars off "XP163". How did you do it, not sure if ya have to remove x bar? Was thinking of doing the same to my 06X.
