Picking up a new XP 154 this week and could use some suggestions on clutching or kit? and I am hearing the new belt should be out any day.

Dealer says all the other updates have been done. Ie throttle? Tank? I did not know of any other recalls?

I will be riding up in Cooke next month, and around here 7,000-9,000ft for the clutching. Needs to be rideable for my pops too.

Thanks for any thoughts, You guys have saved me alot of problems in the past.:D

O yea what about gear? I have some cousins that are buying new polaris to show us up in cooke so I want to make sure its as good as it can be. I don't want to have to here about it all summer. There still talking about the trip 8 years ago Summit 670x vs 700 RMK. You know I had some fun that year. Guess I'll pack the TRXTON just to make sure.

we run a 19 gear--some are running a 20-we also have hps cans on both our `154 x's-Verticle edge is running stock clutching with 12mm set screws--i'm testing some different clutching and havent found much improvement YET---biggest thing is to have the motor aligned with the clutch--they ALL need this done to stop eating belts...dealer should have the knowledge to doo this...

Wyoming, saw your post on another thread that you lost a motor at 200mi on the XP? I have heard alot of trash talk on these sleds. Is that just because this site reaches out to so many people or is the sled a problem child?
Also when I propose the problem questions to the dealer I get the deer in the headlight look??? That really concerns me....

XP has a few issues but nothing like what this site makes it seem. Most capable stock sled ever built.
DJ's kits are a ways out so if you want something in the interum this is what I've seen work much better than stock in the 154's

Stock spring in Primary (160-320), 412 ramps, 2-12mm screws in pins or one 25mm if you don't care about having a little adjustability at elevation. This will basically fill the hollow pins with weight. Gear down to 19 top gear, the dealer has a bullletin from BRP about gearing. They should regear your sled for free...BRP is covering regearing costs. With the 412's you should be around clicker 4 in Cooke. Leave secondary alone, just watch your deflection adjustment.

What he said, and make them put in the new XP belt (377 not the stock 166) before you hand over the cash for the sled.

did loose a motor and have over 500 miles on the new one and no more bad belts..VE has over 800 miles on his, pulled threads on 2 belts before motor alignment and none in the last 350 miles..sleds rock--few issues but way more enjoyment the problems,,,
