New XP 154 800r what to expect

Could someone be nice and kind enough to explain what the H is going on with the 2008 XP. I have been told that there are many issues regarding the performance due to belt and clutching problems. I would like some info on what my dealer can do to take care of these problems and how they should repair the machine. The machine, of course, is under warranty and I was told SkiDoo would warranty the belts and would also be responsbile for the gearing for a 21 to a 19 tooth gear in the chain case and adjustment of the clutching. WHAT ADJUSTMENT SHOULD BE DONE, IF ANY, TO THE CLUTCHING?
Thank you!!!

Adding weight to the primary clutch pins, check or adjust clutch alignment and put a wider belt on (when available) to fix deflection issue.

so I hear.

thats all we have done to ours and they are running real good..still waiting for the new belt but have 200+ hard miles on my present belt.and still looks good...

I agree with the the above info, adding weight to the primary for sure. I was just beginning to think maybe I was getting lucky belt wise when at 213 miles the first one blew, then about 45 miles later I pulled the new one off to see it pulling cords. My dealer replaced both of them, one with the new belt a 377 and then another 166 because that is all he had left.

Someone had posted on doo talk the 166 belt specs that brp puts out, but my brand new 166 does not meet those specs, so I am wondering if this whole belt issue is due to some big mistake at the factory for these.

some run really good, others like mine can't get out of there own way.
the dealer has had a couple that don't run good at all. he did find some bent vacum hoses and the rave valves have also gone. As far as clutching, your guess is as good as anyones. I blow belts every ride, and yes they have been warrantied. the clutching has been changed, the gearing changed, the sled is just a bad one. if you got lucky and got one that runs good for you.
also the brake rotor cover has bent from kicking snow out of the footwells. As soon as it comes out of the shop again. it will be dumped.
