Sneak Peak of the NEW Van Amburg Boondocker Rear Bumper for the Pro Chassis!!

For me, the key feature is that it braces the tunnel all the way forward to the stock tunnel brace IN FRONT of the rear footboard mount point. As most already know, this is the weak point of this tunnel...this is where the stock tunnel buckles!!

Rumored price is $249.

Can U get it powder coated orange??? What would the difference in cost be??

Why would they not just unbolt the stock bars and then put the bumper over them i never understand. So now if you have a 13 and try and run this is going to look really goofy cause of the different mounting. end rant

After seeing some last year i do really like how they replace the stock tunnel encloser. seems like it would really add a lot of strength and tie everything together very well.

Nice work.. I'd like to see a second option where it goes all the way fwd... after removing the stock rear bracing...

Kind of like the VE tunnel kit on Brandy's last sled... but with the stock 2013 boards.

.

anybody have a pic with it installed?? i would like to see how far forward on the tunnel it goes. looks like a nice piece.

Ordered a front bumper two weeks ago from them and haven't heard one word about it. I never have very good luck with them for some reason......... Just sayin'.

No handle, or is the picture angle just weird?? I'm hoping the latter... I like it though.

Thanks Modsledr, was kinda wondering after you mentioned it at the show where it was??? I am very interested as the long tunnel is almost like paper; i can't imagine pulling some one out without at least this.

There is a handle just very hard to see. look at the bottom side to the far left you can see the bottom of the weld for the handle.

Have you tried to call them and get an update? This is snow-show season and all the vendors are slammed.

Give them a call...(509) 225-6681

I've read this several times to try to figure out what you're trying to describe...I must be having a blonde moment. :face-icon-small-con :face-icon-small-con :face-icon-small-con

What do you mean by the "stock bars"? And what do you mean by "tunnel encloser"?

The Pro tunnel/bumpers are the same from '11-'13. The VE Bumper replaces the bumper/mount brackets and ties the rear of the tunnel together all the way around from in front of the running board mounts.

he is saying that the side peices are notched out to go around the rear running board support brace instead of unbolting the board brace and sliding this under it and rebolting(which is how I do my braces..) nice clean setup though.......

stock bars are the support bars for the running boards the 11-12 have 2 bolts and a much larger "footprint" then the single bolted 13's. meaning this bumper is going to have a Notch cut out of it for the 11-12 and look goofy on the 13's.

What mike said about the bars unbolting them sliding the bumper on rebolting the bars over the bumper support arms. and the encloser is the piece at the end of the tunnel that you have to physically remove to install this bumper.

Ahh...got it.

Here's a pic of the prototype installed on a '13 and it doesn't look funny at all.

that bumper is different then the one you originally posted. So they will have two different ones. One for 11-12 and one for 13

I'll have double check to confirm that there is no difference between the 11/12 and the 13...but as I said, the pic of the installed bumper is the prototype.

I only posted that pic to show the cutout

Here's another:

Those are Both of 13 Style running boards. where the pic you posted shows a cut out shape of the 11-12's. Not bashing but the two installed ones you showed will not work on a 11-12 with out the new boards. Just clarifying that for people that might be interested.
