So, I started working for a new company in the spring. Big change from the powersports business. Full production video studio called Mastermind Studios

Specializing in aerial video and photography. We got a US Dept. of Defense contractor to commission one for commercial use in Canada. The demo-reel is only of the last few shoots we've done. WORTH CHECKIN' OUT!!!

While not a sled video, it shows the capabilities(and reduced expenses) a UAV can bring.

I did't want this to sound like an ad and I failed miserably. So here's the link and I'm OUT!

That is very cool! Tell us more, like how it is piloted, amount of time it can fly (fuel, electric?), altitude capabilities, etc. Thanks for sharing.

Im guessing this runs with brushless motors and lipo batteries.

How big and preprogrammed or remote flown?

It's got about a 3ft span all together.
6 rotors
FULL HD Video or stillshot camera.
Stable into 35mph winds
Range of 5 Miles(26,000ft - roughly)
Altitude reachable is 8000ft above land.
110 degree to -10 is operating temp range.

Turbolover - you got it. You know what took that video!

Battery life is roughly an hour with minimal hi-speed runs. Dramatically gets reduced after nothing but hi-speed runs 1km in length. battery lasts about 30 minutes when we push it, but we keep flight time down to 20 minutes each run, to ensure battery life and video battery is always optimal.

It's flown with GPS co-ordinates with manual over-ride via a controller. Live video feed to the ground makes MOJO a three man operating crew.

Nice work Reeb!

Have been working on some similar smaller scale stuff this summer for myself.

Notice you still getting a slight vibration when ascending....but overall that is some really beautiful stuff you are capturing.

35 mile windspeeds and still stable....thats awesome!

Always thought of one of these would be great to follow a rider up a chute, or following a cliffdrop would be an awesome shot. Can't wait to see what you come up with. You too, Dizz.

Very cool setup! My first job in the Airforce was a sensor operator on the MQ-1 Predator...so natually I go all gaga over FMV(full motion video) UAVs. I could really see that having a place for any kind of motorsports filming. Cost has to be dramatically less than getting a chopper, and you can get a LOT closer to the action.

Think of the potential ANYWHERE in the outdoor filming industry.

MX
Baja
Snowboard/Skiing
Sledding...

Sky is the limit.

I'd hate to see people scouting elk with one of these though. LOL

HOLY COW would that be bad A!!!!!! up close follow alongs of climbing a chute or doin a drop.

They had a helmet cam of a cliff drop in Boise several years ago that just made your stomach jump watching it up close on a big screen. This would give an even better view of watching the rider and having their POV also.

I've been thinking about getting one. They actually make and sell them in Montana. I did a demo on my way to Revy this year. A couple of days of helicopter time at $2500 per hour would definitely pay for one.
Little tough to follow a fast sled up a chute though.
Nice work!
Doc

I think you would be surprised on how quick and nimble these type of units can be.

Do the arms fold in like the Draganfly? We want portability and light weight.... Keep up the good work and keep us posted as we are interested in this technology as well!!

Is there tracking technology out there where a rider could sport something like a homing beacon that the remote camera would remain focused on while the operator simply flew the machine?
