New truck and road trip

I broke down and bought a new 15 Denali Dmax. The snow sucks in WA so I hit the road and met some buddies in WY. The new 15 GMC is a great truck. The new interior and instruments are a step up from my 13. I also noticed how little wind/road noise there is compared to my 13. The Featherlite is a 2012 and I've towed short stints to ride locally but never a 2000 mile trek. There are lots of nice trailers but I have to say that it was really smooth pulling that thing. The only time I hated having a trailer behind me was when I hit gusty wind, otherwise you barely know its there. All through ID and UT with the cruise on 81mpg. Here's a few pics. Happy New Year everyone.

Nice rig. I agree on the 2015 GMC, I traded in an '09 Chevy 3500HD 4x4 LB/EC SRW for a 2015 GMC 3500HD SLE 4x4 CC/LB SRW.
Night and day difference between these two trucks. Loving my new GMC.

What tire setup did you do? Level kit?

The dealer I use has started doing kits on their trucks so this is the way I bought it. It has a Rancho kit of some kind and he told me leveling kit. There are Rancho shocks on all four corners, Mayhem 20inch wheels and Federal Couragia M/T 33x12.5x20 tires . The tires not crazy about. I drove the truck straight to Discount Tire after I bought it to re-tire with some A/T's but they didn't have that size so I siped the center tread block and headed to Wyoming. The tire seemed to perform ok on ice and snow but boy they sure are noisy going down the interstate. Yuk.

My buddy is thinking about replacing his 06. Hows the mpg and def use so far?

I'm not an MPG guy per say. I rarely if ever check my mileage on any vehicle. On this trip I ran 81mph most of the way pulling a 28ft enclosed and the computer said 9.4 mpg if you could believe that. The truck now only has 2000 miles so I'm sure the mileage will improve. I had a 13 DDax and I checked it once and it was 17ish no trailer but a sled in the box and again 80-85 mph. Also, on the run to Utah and Wyoming that I make has lots of mountains passes to ascend. Def is a pain but honestly it tends to be a non-issue. You don't fill it that often so you tend to forget about it. However, the same engineer that dangled the def tank practically on the ground must have also designed the fill up spot in the back of the engine compartment at the most inconvenient spot they could put it. Why they can't put it next to the diesel fill nozzle like the Ford's is hard to believe.
