New Trailer

So my 4 place enclosed snowmobile trailer was nailed by hail a couple weeks ago. It's totaled out, so I get to pick out a new one. It was a 27' United Trailer, fully finished in black and silver. I have a 3500 Dually and was thinking about getting a gooseneck for a new one that'll also haul my car if I want to.

Anyone got any favorites from their enclosed trailers? Pics, descriptions, or anything else regarding options would be greatly appreciated! The only thing I'm definately not gonna add is a yamaha sticker!

Thanks guys!

Aluminum! That's the first thing to consider. As for brands...Triton and Featherlite will not dissapoint. I'm sure there are others but I can attest to these. Do something with the floor. Either get one that has the rubber-like floor or get it coated with a spray in liner. I did the later and love it for durability and ease of cleaning. Also, a forced air heater is nice. I also have a catalytic to keep things warm and uses no power. Don't skimp on axles and tires either. Other than that....cabinets, hooks, extra 12V lights, inverter, fourencent shop lights and on board gas w/pump for me.

if you are going to haul a car i don't think you want all aluminum. check out milltrailers.com. i used it as a baseline to just check them out. my friend has a 28' not sure of the model, but its a real nice trailer, all done out for racing.

I'm curious, other than asthetics, how does hail damage a trailer beyond
usability?
as for what your looking for featherlite, although
I'd caution using aluminum in areas that use chemical or
metal cloride based anti-icing sprays on the highways.

I have a set of alum wheels on my car, that pitted out from one
trip 200miles of an area that uses the stuff. Even the alum diamondplate
on my steel trailer took a beating, same single trip and it was pitted and nasty looking.

Oh, the trailer is still very usable. I just towed it from MN to CA and back with the damage. Hail just severyly dented the heck outta it. The parts and labor to fix the trailer are more than what the trailer was purchased for, so that's why its totaled. I'll buy it back from the insurance company, use it for the rest of the summer, then sell it to buy a larger one this fall.

I have diamond plate on it, and it does get pretty eaten up by the salt. How are the triton trailers is this kind of stuff?

Got a Triton, all aluminum. It's sat outside since it was new in '01. Lot of windshield time pullin' it. Lot's of MagCl in CO and it doesn't look bad at all. The bare aluminum on the corners is a little discolored. The sides look great for its age. I don't think a steel trailer would hold up any better to the salt and Mag.
