New topic: Stock Nytro VS Stock M8.

go with the m8...l worked at a yamaha dealership..i own an m8...handle better and lots of performance options...yes you can turbo the nytro but it won;t hold a candle to the m8 with boost...up in our parts the ski-doo 800 turboed is spanking the boosted apex

Were in the hell do you live? Anywhere else they're UNSTOPABLE! :D

Im leaning towards the M8 to.

Well, if you aren't gonna boost the Nytro, then an M8 will demolish a Nytro in every category. Its lighter, it handles a little better in the POW and it climbs a lot better than stock than the Nytro. BUT - adding boost is much more viable option with the yammi though.

Thats what I was thinking. I do Love to climb. :D

By the way Im 13, I donrt think i'll get boost now. :o

I ride with a 07 M8 all day almost every day. The Nytro spanks the M8 highmarking it by 30 to 100' fresh or tracked. My friend and I figured out our total sled and rider weight to be very close. He is seriously considering purchasing one next year. Nytro is stock with slip on exaust the M8 has Y pipe air box mod and stinger. I would say that the fuel range is the same with only 28L in the Nytro and 40L in the M8.

His M8 must be down on power or he's a REALY big boy. There is no way a stock Nytro will outclimb a stock M8. How could it? Worse track, more weight, less power... last time i checked that's the stuff that matters when climbing. I've ridden Nytros back to back with the even less powered M7, and its not even funny how much better the M7 did. I'm not bagging the Nytro at all, as i'm looking to buy one here in the next few months, but stock for stock, give me a break... If your only talking climbing and booning, theirs no contest, the M8 will dominate. If you care about other stuff besides climbing and booning, then the Nytro has more to offer in other areas. :beer;

It's easy to decide between the M8 and Nytro, especially if you're gonna add boost. Just ask yourself one question......"Which end of the rope you wanna be on?"....:eek:

I own both. 08 Nytro MTX and 08 M-8. M-8 hands downs if I picked a sled again.;) WAY BETTER.

I dont know, its actually a hell of a lot closer then i woulda thought........i've now ridden with a m7 and an m8 both sleds had the same rider. In the deep powder anywhere from 1-3 feet. Wether on flat hill or mountain the nytro handles just as well...........better on hilly area........boondockin the nytro is untouchable......about even up the mountiain with deep powder. From what i noticed is the 800 and thy nytro are about even going straight up the mountain, both 2-strokes had 162 inch tracks on them as well. Just yesterday i took my sled out with the m8 and an 05 rev rev 800, there was about a foot of powder with a really good base and my sled out performed both sleds hands down..............we even got a chance to drag all three sleds the old 800 was 6-7 sled lengths behind and my nytro and the m8 and I were even the whole time, the 2nd time I got a way better start and was about 2 sled lengths in front of the m8.

By the way we swapped sleds through out the day and the rev 800 owner is going to buy my nytro after this season dependin on what yamaha comes out with for 09. And the m8 owner is just real jeleous, but always had a huge grin on his face after he road my nytro mtx.......buy the way that 800 is a real sweet sled to ride, still prefer the nytro though ;)

as far as trail riding goes, well hands down again the nytro specially considering the m8 was a 162..........the rev was a 144 and buddy still liked the nytro better with the 153 maverick track.

I got a new 2008 M8 a few weeks ago and am getting a 2006 Apex used tomorrow from Outlaw, I love the M8 and am hoping I like the Apex, at least I will have 2 reliable sleds. I'm keeping them stock.

i rode both on the same day and in the same conditions. the m8 was better at climbing, nytro better at everything else. if they were going to stay 100% stock it would be a tough choice. but even with minimal mods the nytro would be an all around better sled but probably will not get the highmark imo. both boosted, sly pretty much summed it up...

I spent a bunch of time last winter on an m8 due to the fact that I let my buddy ride my 06 apex and then he didn't want to trade back. He would'nt believe me when I told him the m8 was 100lbs lighter. The apex handles so much better that he thought it was the other way around! He's new to sledding so didn't know any better. My stock apex beat that m8 off the line down a road, in the deep, and hillclimbing and it wasn't even close. It didn't matter who rode what. That was an 07 cat so maybe they woke them up in 08? Seems like the m7 would beat the m8?

I ride a nytro, had it out first time bone stock, the track on it don't work worth a crap, switched to a 156 2.5 inch challenger extreme, changed the whole ride, then i got boost, awesome, but I think the Nytro handles just awesome, got rid of my xp for it, can't tell the weight is even there, I ride with an M8 I think it looks like just a pooch, go with the yami

I ride an 07 Summit ADR with a 151" track. I had a chance to ride the Nytro in some fresh stuff a little while ago and I must say I was impressed! It would take some getting used to the different steering etc. but, it did climb well and the boondocking was a breeze with the way you could throw the sled around. There's no doubt a few more ponies under the hood would go a long ways for those that dont' like to mod their stuff, if they'd throw the Apex motor into it I'd be switching brands tomorrow! Sherm
