New to turbo Yamaha coming off a turbo pro. Bought a 2010 nitro with a 270 mcx looking over sled tonight and found a couple thing that need to be fixed. Track has a couple of tears just wondering what is the best track with no mods it is a 163. Also found exhaust leak right before the turbo pipe is cracked away from turbo flange. Just wondering everyones take on this.

remove the entire exhaust and re weld with a mig where its cracked. I would install my copper donuts and BOV spring designed fot the MCX

pm me for more details

What Thistle said. And a 162 Challenger xtreme track. While the exhaust is out, you definitely want to install his copper donuts!
And that BOV spring is the cat's a$$

track

just my 2 pennys but I wouldn't bother with the new style 2.5 single ply. I had the track on my nytro and considered it lacking. the paddles are too soft and provide little go for 270hp.
the blow off spring is a great help. julio

Thanks for the guys so what would u consider the best track for this application. I mainly like to ride trees and drainiges looking for the best setup. I'm also looking at the cr front end!

In my opinion go with the 15 wide X3 track, it gets up on the snow way faster & has freakishly great traction. I'm also super impressed with my CR front end. Makes most of the crappy handling that the Nytro has disappear!

had the 174x16x3 now have the 15 wide would not go back to a 16, the 15 handles so much better

I put a new challenger extreme on this year and you have to watch which one you get as there are two designs for the challenger extreme. The old design that has like teeth on the end of the lug and the new design that is more like the x3 where it is smooth on the end of the lug. The new design seems to be more flexible and in my opinion handles and takes off better in deep snow.

I really like the new design challenger extreme but I think next time i'm going to try an x3.

I've had both versions of the challenger extreme on my sled. I bought the old version used looked to be in good shape, it delaminated and I lost 10 lugs in a row on the 3rd ride I had it on. While the traction on set up snow was better than the current track, the new style doesn't give up much in terms of all around traction. Almost any track will be much better than the stock maverick track. I always wondered why guys were buying skids to keep the front end planted, never had a problem wheeling when I had a stock track. With the new challenger extreme the skis are always in the air!
