Is it better to stay in steamboat or kremmling. We will be heading down on tuesday next week. Where are the best riding areas, the less trail, the better. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you want value, stay in Kremmling. If you want more nightlife, stay in Steamboat. Excellent riding in every direction from the top of the pass without following 'trails' if you're willing to explore. Be sure to know your legal boundries.

I might be able to ride on Wednesday actually.

Have to see what happens at work Monday and Tuesday.

That would be great, riding with someone familiar with the area is always a huge bonus.

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm "familiar" with the area, but I've been there a few times.

I'll let you know if I'm able to ride Wednesday or not.

I prefer the Allingtion in Kremmling. Nice new hotel with plenty of lighted parking for trailers..plus they offer a great rate for snowmobilers which includes a light breakfast.

Are there any cabins to rent in the area where you can cook your own food? My group usually goes to the snowies, but we are thinking of trying something new this year, but we like to stay in a cabin and usually have 6-8 people.

Thanks
Jim

North park inn in Walden has a small house. Better riding and closer than Kremtucky. If your nightlife goes much beyond a few shots in a country bar, then Steamboat has a variety.

We stay at north park inn and suites. About a 20 min drive to the parking lot then take the powerline short cut up to buff pass. North Park inn has hotel/motel rooms as well as a few cabins(houses). We have stayed in the cabins both times. If the cabin 31 (blue house) isn't taken i would suggest that one over the others.

So anyone up for riding Wednesday?

I think I'm gonna take Wednesday off.

We stay in Kremmling, great little town with all you need just a couple blocks away.

Cheap rates at the Allington Inn, the newest place in town next to the Cat dealer, which can be convenient.

Sleepy little mountain town, none locks their doors.

we're out here right now, wheres the best riding, have heard buff pass or out by steamboat lake. just wondering what other people are seeing

How can one compare Walden to Kremmling? That place is even more backwards than Ktown.

Dizz is correct. The Allington is awesome. Sweet rooms, wifi, hot tub and a pool. Ask for the "Sledder Rate" or the Best Kept Secret. Tell Vick that it was recommended by peeps on SnoWest.

PJ - Did you get your sled fixed? I heard Donovan was several sleds deep at the moment, I thought I read that you took your sled to him.

What are the conditions like on RE? We are thinking about a Black Monday trip. Supposed to dump all weekend.

Not yet, I spoke with him but he can't do warranty work. It's at Steamboat. I still have my backup sled though.
