New to Polaris

I snow checked a 800 Pro RMK. I see the Extreme Bumper and how it raps around the sled more than the original, makes me wonder if they did this because we were breaking the front part of the panels on the 2011's. What are your thoughts about the Extreme Bumper? Were the panels breaking because of the design of the original bumper? The Extreme Bumper, is it worth the price or not?

It depends on where and how you ride. The stock bumper works fine on the mountain, the extreme bumper offers additional protection if you ride in trees and brush. It's a personal preference. I haven't heard a ton of complaints on the stock Pro bumper like the old plastic ones on the early IQ RAW chassis sleds.

From what I've seen and been told the stock Pro bumper is weak. They pretty much crinkle up into the hood and / or side panels if you hit something. Most of the aftermarket bumpers provide more side protection, and offer additional strength. If you hit something with them they tend to absorb more of the crash instead of taking the hit and folding like paper into the rest of the sled.
