New to Colorado - Help finding Tday riding

Hey there everyone!

We are new to Colorado riding and just trying to get an idea of if its actually safe to ride right now. I have seen a lot of posts about breaking A-arms and worst of course and that you really should only do trail riding, however I see that most places aren't grooming yet.

Is there a certain time of year and location that in general is reliable in terms of riding off trail? We are trying to figure out if there is a good place to ride this coming weekend for the holiday and then also for christmas time.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions!

Hi I'm new to co and live in aurora as well. I'll be riding on thanksgiving as well. Probably ride vail pass but not sure yet. You can break stuff any time you ride. Just need to use your eyes and be a little careful.

LOL! Oh - I know that. I have just heard a lot of horror stories since getting here (much more out here than in Seattle where we used to live/ride) about breaking things this early in the season. Of course with here and the champagne powder at what point is there a built up base?

I think the snow reports are looking pretty good. Your welcome to tag along if your looking to ride.
