New SuperDeck

I did a lot of research before I purchased my New Superdeck. I considered even the decks coming in from offshore, but by doing my research that was no longer an option when comparing apples to apples(quality) and the best bang for my buck (value added things). These are the features that made me decide to purchase the Superdeck. It came to me knocked down, 16 same size bolts put it together ( too easy ) the legs go right close to the inside walls of the box allowing more room in my box compared to the other decks. Also really cool is when you mount in the deck into the box Superdeck supplies you with 4-Fast Gun tie downs that is standard now. Comes with under deck cargo lighting, 53 inch wide telescoping ramp with Superglides and new edge rail trim, also finally right from the manufacturer Superdeck come standard with 6 rows of Superglides held down with the new edge rail trim on the deck , looks awesome. New extruded sides, very solid and strong headache rack, new LED side marker lights. It now comes standard with both Superclamps front and rear now (2 sets) Superdeck gave me a choice of short box deck or long box deck both are the same price. I got all that for $3495.00. I also bought the extension sold seperately $590.00. My research when comparing all the other decks, what was important to me, Telescoping ramp with Superglides ( I did not want a 2-piece or folding ramp), Superclamp front and rear and Superglides for the top of my deck, under deck lighting, I found some of the decks come with these options, and some without, you have to buy and add your self. Superdeck comes with it all, the full meal deal. I also feel good about supporting Canadian manufacturers and all Canadian made products.

Wow nice set-up. Truck deck and sled.
Can I ask how much does the deck weight? (I could go to there sight)

i love that truck!

Why are these decks so expensive?

You can buy a 2-place trailer and knock the axle off for less than half of some of these decks

that's what I'm wondering too. Maybe there is more aluminum used. Even if it is due to material cost, I'd go for an enclosed trailer for a little bit more.

Why are these decks so expensive? They are not expensive for what has gone into them. A trailer does not have retractable sides as well as a telescoping ramp outfitted with superglides. There is 1/3 or more material as well more labour. Comes with Superclamps front and rear as well as 6 rows of glides on the top, trailers come with nothing on the surface and has a stupid bar and crank that we all hate. Trition 2 place runs around $2400.00- 3000.00 and you dont get half the stuff you are getting on most truck decks. I hope I answered your question. Inclosed starts $4500.00 to skies the limit. Gas mileage goes way up when you pull a trailer apposed to a Truck deck.

You also don't have to buy insurance for it, you don't need to license or title it. You have much much less maintenance than a trailer, you get better mileage, you look like a bad *** with a Sled Deck and its much easier in tight parking areas/large cities/traffic. Sleds also stay a little cleaner since they are not behind your own tires getting crap thrown directly at them.

That sounds like a winning deal to me!!.....and who doesnt want to look like a bad *** :face-icon-small-coo

After working in a fab shop throughout highschool, I can see why they cost what they do. Not only are they covering all the "goodies", material, and labor, but I'm sure they spent a significant amount of time developing these decks.

And x2 on sleds staying cleaner. I hate towing my trailer for the simple reason of how filthy my sled can (not always though) get back there.

Anyway, very nice setup! I hope I can work hard enough to be able to afford that nice of things someday.

Seems strange to me to spend 3.5k on something that is using 3 layers of plywood as a deck. However, I don't know jack about decks.

Overall, your setup does look pretty and functional though!

Well, the house you live in only has a single layer of plywood for a floor and you probably paid way more than 3.5k for it!!. The money spent is in the aluminum superstructure and labor to weld it together.

Very nice, but pricing, as most nice things are. As far as the fuel mileage goes.....I am getting about the same pulling a 4 place enclosed.....might have gotten 1mpg better.

Wind resistance i guess? But I did love my sled deck, still got it, but can 't have it on and pull the 4 place at the same time. :face-icon-small-dis

I dont get it either, I build decks and sell them for $1200. You would think at that price I could quit my day job, not so.

It is deffinetly a nice setup. I would not mind one for the local rides, but for the road trips nothing beats the enclosed trailer. Portable heated garage ( if needed ) and sleds are locked up tight at night. Also on the local rides it is nice to start the sled and it is already 70 degrees. They can be a bit hard to turn around at times though. Fuel is not a problem as the company pays for it and a diesel with a chip still gets me about the same fuel milage or better then the friends gas truck with deck. Not to mention he cannot keep up, especially on the hills. That is one sweet deck though. When I get rid of the diesel that may be on the list of things to buy.

deck

Check out full lotus mfg in Vernon BC, all the features of above but with a poly bead deck surface(like the poly bead floors in an enclosed), no plywood to rot, skis don't even scuff the deck surface, slides are in a bushinged circular tube so theres no binding, and hooped legs provide great strength, they also slide back n forth for longbed or shortbed, and are height adjustable for different size bedrails. The welding is tig welded by FAA certified tig welders. the whole deck is also powdercoated aluminium for durability, and it comes assembled, unwrap it and put it in the truck, comes with 2 superclamps and 11 foot telescoping ramp with superglides. All for 3450$ canadian. I have been super impressed.
