New Skinz A-Arms

All, a new product from Skinz you might be interested. I called to inquire about narrowing up my 2013 Assault and it looks like they have been busy this season with some new A-Arms.

They will fit all Pro chassis from 2011-2014. One of the benefits of replacing the whole system is that it gives us a wider range of applications. As far as the width adjustability goes, you will be able to move the spacers to achieve a 37/38/39 the same way stock will. 38” is the true center to center width of the front end. Ski width will affect rider effort only so you will have the same stable predictable feel at any width.

The price is $2,299.95 includes the Fox Shocks (1,300 value), but Jake said any 17 ½” shock will work, but it must have spherical bearings as well. If you want to know more, give Jake a call at Skinz 320-243-8771.

Nice product.

Those Kashima-Coat R-EVOL's look trick on there... Nice fab work.

The SPG front changes the geometry and the included new spindles in conjunction with the arms move the ski pivot fwd.

2011/12 PRO RMK shocks at 17.5" will work... and already have spherical berings on the lower eye of the shock... the upper can also be retro fitted with a spherical bearing from Walker Service Dept.... as I believe that the WE shock has the snap ring grooves already cut for a spherical bearing on the top eye. At 16.6", the 2013/14 WE PRO-RMK shocks will not work.

EDIT: I talked with Walker Evans... The upper eye of the WE PRO RMK/Assault shocks do NOT have snap ring grooves in them... He DID say that if you send in the shock... they can install the spherical top bearing for about $65 each shock... This includes a shock service (clean/new oil)...If you need new seals etc.. just the cost of the seals added to it. Gives you an option.

So, about $999 for the Arm/Spindle/tie-rod kit.

Thanks for the pics!

Ugh! So we've been waiting for these arms for a while now and they won't be sold as just arms? Its a thousand dollar mod???? Or am I missing something and we can purchase those sick arms as a direct mount to our sleds and rip like factory but with added strength??

SPG A-Arm kit... includes Arms and spindles... not arms separately.

Just shy of $1000 for arms and spindles.

You have to have shocks with sperical bearings on both ends.

ok ya that's what I was gathering. Was hoping for another option!

curious to hear reviews

I spoke with Jeff, owner of SPG.

The arms come in two widths 38" and 42" wide.

The kits include:
Upper and lower A-Arms
Spindles with changed geometry.
Tie Rods

Option to buy shocks at a lower price, custom valved for this setup.

The arms are Cromoly lower and boxed-construction aluminum upper.

The Lower arms come with matte Black Powder coating.

The uppers are offered in bare aluminum , polished aluminum or a white Cera-Cote ceramic coating. This is a cold process coating as powder coating the arms will ruin the heat treating on the upper.. The arms are fabricated, stress relieved and then heat treated for strength.

They reuse the ski spacers and sleeve-tubes from the stock spindles.

The design stresses, according to SPG, the elimination of bump steer and give a more predicatable side-hill and less of the "flop-point" when pulling the sled onto edge.

If you have the stock shocks on your PRO RMK/RMK...I talked with Walker Evans...

Snap ring grooves

My 11 assault shocks have grooves.
Shortened and running on my pro rmk.
Spherical bearings are about 39 bucks each.
I just bought one.

A good price on a set of Zbroz or other arms is about $450 and we were all paying $300 for the Holz spindles back when they were needed on the IQ's.. This kit includes all of that, plus it is supposed to change the geometry to make things even better and costs just slightly more than what we were all paying for arms and spindles before. I think this really is a fair price for this setup..

Seems to me like a solution to a problem that didn't exist. I've got no problems with how my '13 RMK handles. Not sure why anyone would want to buy a-arms for a sled that doesn't need it?
