New ski plugs up with snow.

In an hour my bike did five flop overs in deep sticky snow that was at thawing temperatures. Three happened when trying to move after brief stops; two when moving at about 15 to 20 miles per hour. Very hard on the confidence. The ski was packed solid between the skags and had to be kicked out. I had a similar experience with the old wide ski. Others have had the same problem with both old and new wide skis.
If anyone has solved this scary aggravating issue please let us all know.
Some suggested cures were: polish ski with steel wool, spay on Teflon coating, ski wax, WD 40,

I'm new to the snowbike game, but have been a skier for over 30 years. A good wax that is designed for the conditions you are riding in that day should take care of the problem, but you would need to wax regularly as conditions change and the wax wears off. A wax should stick to the ski and last longer than oils.

It can happen when the snow and temp is juuuuuuuuust right. If you stop to chat with buds for a while, take off and then immediately fall over for no reason you'll know what has happened. I was thinking about waxing the bottom of my ski too.

no explanation

those conditions on Sat, watched two others go down, take off and hit a tree, stick and wipeout just boondocking. But oddly enough I never had the problem, luck maybe ? think it had something to do with maybe I was carrying more weight on my front ski ? Two KTM sticky, Yam not so bad, best cure was wfo when we hit the road to go home.

Pledge is wax spray

If the problem persists, spray a coat of Pledge on your ski when it's dry, rub it in with saturated paper towl. It's cheap, easy to spray, and you'll be the freshest lemon fragranced dude on the hill. If that doesn't work, you may have to try more expensive ski wax for various snow conditions.
