new rider.. just a few questions?

hi.. i am a new rider just bought my first sled.. its a 2007 ski-doo summit 800 151... i was just wondering if i bought the right one? i stand 6 foot 1 inch tall and weigh about 260.. i am open to any suggestions such as yes this is right or no this is wrong down to the best gear to get... thanks everyone :)

an 800 is a pretty big sled to start out on, Ive been ridin about 10 years now and just got my 800 last year. But as long as you keep in mind how much power you accually have, youll be able to grow into the sled. Just remember that lots of power doesnt make you a good rider! As far as gear goes, Klim is the cream of the crop. Its pretty spendy, but well worth it as far as Im concerned!:D

800 151 is a great sled and you will make out fine---my grandson started on a 800 rmk at 11---m7 and a 800 159 summit at 13 and 14 and is on my 08 800 summit x this season--way less pulling when he's on a good sled

I would suggest a riser if you're 6'1. Check out Fly Racing or there are some others out there too.

Awesome sled to start on...you will love it and 800 is not too big. Great to have the power when your new and as you learn to ride you will need less of it to get around in the deep. I have an 05 and 07 and they ran flawlessly 05 I put 4500km on and my 07 I put 2800km on and I just picked up an 09.

As far as clothing if you ski or snowboard than you have all the gear. Maybe an extra set of googles and 3 sets of gloves as you may be doing some digging in your first part of the season. Technical ski gear is superior to most sledding gear and just do thin layers of Lifa or any good type of long underwear with shell jacket and pants on top.

Have fun! :face-icon-small-ton
