Hey everyone,

I just talked to my local polaris dealer and they said I should bring my 09 d8 155 in for a new reflash. They said polaris released it in july and they said it is suppose to cure the mid range bog??
Has anyone done this n noticed a difference? or had a chance to ride with the new reflash?
I had read in snow tech mag. that polaris spent a month in south america testing the 2011 800 to make sure they are good. So maybe this is a result of that testing?
Anyone ride there 2011 800's this year yet?
Anyone got any opinions on this situation?

Thanks all

different number of injectors on the 2011's. New flash would be for 08-10's, and nothing to do with how the 2011's run. I'm still on the original after update flash with PC5 and love it!

Ok so I have been told 2 things now. We need to get a straight answer. I was told that the is a new flash 4/8/10 team tip- S-10-04-01 is good for 09-10 D8.
Is this the one you that you are talking about?? If not do you know the team tip #.

Okay this I what I know, or think but don't know for sure. My understanding is Jan 2010 and updated flash came out. I had this one done when I got the 2010 update done. (heads, piston, flash). This update was to help the midrange trouble spot. My sled has run the best on this flash thus far. Then in april, or mid 2010 they came out with another flash that was more targeted to lower elevation sleds 0-5000' I think. If you ride above that elevation dealer where saying it didn't change anything. From what I understoood that was and would be the last flash for the older sleds.

I am a lower elevation rider and this is what I was told as well. Its the April Flash.

I dont know the team tip #. but I called to find out what was all done on the sled I bought. they told me the only thing done was the motor update n flash. I asked about the april flash I had heard about n they didnt know anything about it. They told me a new flash came out in july. And I asked what this was going to do? They said its suppose to fix the "mid range bog". They aslo said they dont know if it for sure is going to work because they havent had any feed back from riders because no one in mn has had a chance to ride this year yet. Now I'm just going by what they told me over the phone. I am going to the dealer on saturday to get this new flash done. I will find out more when I go and I will try to give you guys more information.

I think that is the flash that we are talking about. I thought the summer flash that came out was for lower altitude "mid range bog". I thought it came out in April, but I guess it was July. I thought it only affected lower elevation riders. Did they say anything about that?

The flash was actually available in April, but not much said about it at that time because it got lost in all the "Spring order hoopla", plus the group it was targeted at had been without snow for a month by the time it was available (love how they put out new flatlander ECM flash AFTER the riding season was done). Supposedly, it's only intended to address a "low to midrange hesitation" and is targeted at low-altitude riders. So, don't expect your sled will suddenly turn into a butt-kicking monster if you get the new flash. At best, it will run a bit smoother in throttle transitions. If your sled still has warranty, maybe go for it. My warranty is up, so I'm not taking a chance on an unproven map.

So I finally got the details about this reflash situation. When I got to the dealer I talked to the service manager n he said that this was actually the april flash it just didnt come available to them til now. So you guys were right that it was the april flash. So I am hoping this reflash I got does more good then bad. I still have an engine warranty so I am not to worried but would still be p.o if i gotta have this in the shop more than riding it. Sorry for misleading anybody.

I rode this flash on my d-8 this spring..it is a much better flash then previous versions at low elevations(under 3000 ft)..idle is much smoother...midrange stumbles/bogs are gone. and very very slight crisper upper midrange...now with that said...mine burned down on this flash.....anytime you get an outside temp over 30 degrees it seems the ecm leans up too much in the midrange....(this applies to all current flashes from the original 08 to this april flash)so with that said..if your sled is out of warranty...regardless which flash you ride...anytime air temps rise over 30 degrees.....YOU NEED TO RIDE THESE SLEDS LIKE MOD SLEDS.....CONSTANTLY VARYING THROTTLE ESPECIALLY IN THE MID RANGE...adding a pc-3 or 5 fuel controller significantly helps with this(most maps are 20 % richer in the midrange areas) and explains why so many peeps run them....(I have ran every flash polaris has produced..best performance I saw was on the origanal 08 flash that came on the sled..worst performance was the first 10 flash.. best overall ridability is the april flash..and when combined with a slp or dtr map on a pc-5 and carefully dialed in I think it will show excellent performance.....good luck..

That's interesting because I have also ran all of the flashes and the one that has run the best on mine is Jan 2010 flash. This goes to show how important it is to get an aftermarket fuel controller because every sled is a different animal and you must customize fuel map for your sled.

the 10 flashes were better in the low midrange(richer obviously), but the april flash is better and snappier across the board...(most noticable from idle to 3/4 throttle)..the 08 original flash made the most power(near as I can tell from some basic testing i have done out on the hill on every flash...but you are right..a fuel controller is a very wise investment on these sleds...

IMO I did use the 4/8/10 flash and used it in April,,didnt like it, It ran like crap in the spring and i'm in sea level. I'm lookin for a PCV map for this flash if any out there. Now its fall it seems to be runnin a lil better but thurs a bog at 6800 RPM..It stock,,Now i have 30 + weather with rain.

i rad my 2009 800 switchback with the new flash for the first time since the flash. first run up the river at 88mph check engine light flashes and go into limp mode. put slp y-pipe,pipe and can, clutch kit and high flow air intake and tried today and at wot check engine light comes on but only at wot held for maybe 10 secs.. any ideas...

Buy a PCV and add feul in that area. SLP has maps for there setup.

What map would a 2010 Rmk 800 have?
The dealer said they didn't change the flashes on any of the 2010
I hope it has the Jan one on it.
Anyone know what the 2010 came with from factory?

Well I have finally gotten a chance to ride it with the april reflash this past weekend. I had absolutely no problems with the motor. It ran top notch all day! It is completely stock except a SLP can. I guess I got one of the good ones out of the group

I am hearing nothing but positive remarks about this flash. I will be out this weekend I can't wait to see how it runs.
