I just got off the phone with Mike at Ice Age Performance.

Before you guys ask... there is NOTHING on the website, nor are they ready for shipping. No pricing yet.

YOU CANNOT ORDER THESE YET...PROBABLY IN OCTOBER IS WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE. You will probably get one of these.... :face-icon-small-con ..... if you call and ask about them right now.

With all of you guys (and Gals) asking for a stronger rail to hold up to your big drops and jumping, I was able to convince Ice Age to build for you guys a set of rails for your sled... ICE AGE BOMBER RAIL ... for the 155 ASSAULTS and RMK's...

These will be significantly stronger than the Ice Age replacement rails currently offered... which are, BTW, stronger (and a bit heavier) than the factory rails.

These will feature a beefier section above the webbing with no cutouts around the front arm mounts and more substantial construction.

There will be a slight up-charge for these compared to the standard rail offering but this would be in the neighborhood of $10-20 per rail...you will not have to pay for a full custom rail on this.

I will post up some more details on this as I have them.

This should be a good option for those of you that "Taco" their rails on a regular basis and do not mind adding a few more pounds to your sled.

Preliminary drawings of the Bomber rails. Some details to be worked out yet.

You can see the "Beefier" construction compared to the standard rail.

There will also be a location forward for a supplemental cross brace in addition to the 2 on the stock Assault rail.

And before you other guys ask... YES they will be able to make these on a special order basis for the 163" guys.

Please note that the std Ice Age rails for the PRO were also designed to be stronger than the factory rails

As with all the ICE AGE Polaris Rails, you will have to run 8" rear idler wheels... some people do run the stock 7.25" Polaris wheels but you will notice accelerated hyfax wear at the rear and more frictional drag... They "fit" but don't "work" well compared to an 8" wheel. They will not make these rails, even on a custom order for the 7.25" wheels.

Good info!

I know weight savings and getting beefy don't go hand in hand, but any idea the weight difference in these, the regular ice age rails and the OEM?

Say 155" length

NOPE... none of that info.

Go to their website.. I don't have any of the pricing info nor do I know what Polaris charges.

I only pushed them into making the part for our readers that may need it... I'm not involved in the mfg or selling of the parts.

I also don't have an Assault nor do I need the Bomber rails for the "Grandpa" style of riding I do compared to the guys that push these sleds past their limits.

pretty sure i went through this last year when i ordered my ice age. ice age said that an uncut rail like the "bomber" picture was only around 8-10% stronger then there standard rails at more money.

If you run the standard wheels on the ice age the track windows will hit on the end of the rails.

Doesnt make sense that they cost more when they dont have to take the time to cut the webbing or extra holes out. They should almost be cheaper than the lighter rails... Just my 2 cents tho.

Those are, as I said in the post above, preliminary drawings for the rail... I'm sure they will be beefed up a bit from what you see there.

They will be done on a special order basis, so I would imagine that they can bend the PRO RMK or the PRO-Assault-RMK angles.

If you run the front arm of your rear suspension in the upper position you would want to run the RMK front bend on the rails...

If you run the front arm of your rear suspension in the lower (Assault) position... you DEFINITELY would NOT want to run the RMK bend on them...run the assault bend rail.

Here is a picture of my custom 'bomber' rails equipped with the wicked new Timbersled Mtn. Tamer and EXIT x1 shocks.

I have the rmk iceage rails from last year, can I put them in a hydraulic press and make a "assault" bend in them for my new sled?
