NEW PRODUCT ALERT! AXYS Belt Drive Guard

Just curious if anyone has actually done damage riding without a belt drive guard.

No one that i know of.
Also, i would think the heavy plastic (HDPE?) ones would be much better as they slide over a rock and dont try to stop on it like metal ones do.

It's just cheap insurance because when/if it happens you'll probably be stuck where it happens.

Installed pics?.

There were on the site but the link was from the old site.

UHMW - This is why I like these over aluminum or metal, they don't dent and they will slide.

For what it worth UHMW stands for
Ultra
High
Molecular
Weight
Poly
Ethylene

So UHMW is actually a grade better than HDPE, as the molecules are packed much closer together (denser).

HDPE stands for
High
Density
Poly
Ethylene

Most body panels are made from HDPE for a good balance of protection for the weight. Most skid plates are made from UHMW for the extra protection it provides.

On a side note; most have heard of HDPE pipe, well most fittings that are used on HDPE pipe these days are actually made from UHMW because they are stronger and will hold up to the extra abuse the elbows, flanges, and valves see.

The skis on your sled are made from UHMW. Tough stuff. The jug your milk came in is HDPE. Not so tough...

Thats why i put the "?" with the HDPE . . wasnt sure i had the right one :)
UHMW is what i was thinking of and it works very well for belt guards, skid plates etc.
