New pro rmk or used TM8

I've pretty much pulled the pin on a used PG Turbo M8. I just keep second guessing myself saying I should maybe buy a new pro rmk and just ride it stock. This will be my first turbo sled. I really want to go turbo but can't afford a new one. Let me know what you guys think!

I like stock, because it always runs and will always get you home. May not be as fun, but its simple. I have always kept everything stock. Turbo would be fun, but I do not know much about them. I think if they are setup right, then they are very reliable. Just my 2-cents

buy the new Pro RMK.

Don't get me wrong, I love my TM8 .... but in that situation I'd buy the new rmk.

I would buy a Pro, if I was you!! It is always gonna run! The M8 will run too, just not as long! In my opinion the Pro handles so much better than an M8!!

If you ride with other turbo's I would get the turbo. If you don't ride with any other turbo's you would be better off with the stock pro. Seems like if someone on a comparable sled is not pushing you, you are not going to need the turbo. No stock sled is going to push you to go higher or get in "worse" places if you are the only one on a big horse power sled. Funny about all the reliability comments on the turbo. There were three in our group last year and none of them had to be pulled out in fact we brought one more over to the dark side this year. Nothing like wheeling out of chit holes while n/a sleds have to beat a highway up to make it out.

Destroyer,
Not to be an ***, but I'm second guessing you. New PRO all the way. However I'm sure you will have fun no matter what.

The Pro is the best sled out of the box that I've owned. You can just get on and ride. Of coarse, a few mods here and there make it even better.

If you're considering a used turbo (or any mod sled for that matter) do a little homework and find out who did the install and setup, and that it was done properly. It would suck to inherit somebody else's mistakes!

i'd guess it depends on what type of riding you do and what areas you ride in. i live to spend my days in roadless areas with tons of trees. picking my way from ridge to ridge, with a few good open areas to do some good pulls. i absolutley love my pro, is the best sled made imo for this type of riding. my previous sled was a highly modded m8. if you ride a lot of open area's with long big pulls then the turbo would be a blast. i would just be worried about having to come back down from some of the places you can go up:)

That pretty well sums it up!

I really think this all comes down to what chassis you are most comfortable with. The M series one of the best mountain chassis on the market, bar none. It's been out there for a good while (in it's current form) and has been an extremely popular model. I feel completely at home in the timber and technical climbs and the M series brings out the best in me.

That being said, the Pro is awesome too. I'm really a Polaris fan at heart and when I rode the Pro it impressed the hell out of me. I really considered possibly moving to a Pro after they work the kinks out in a couple seasons. There is a reason why Burandt moved from AC to Polaris, and the chassis is what probably influenced his move the most.

The problem with the AC is the electrical components and (depending on the year) the diamond drives. The problem with the Pro is the motor.... and for me, it feels a little too XPish on the front end handling. Not too much, but it leans more that way than a M series.

If you can confirm that the turbo is on correct and you are certain the build quality and assembly is good to go.... I'd hit up that turbo. If you are second guessing the build, second guessing the type of turbo, or second guessing some "odd" electrical problem.... go for the Pro.

In the end it isn't a Skidoo, so you'll be making a good decision either way. :D
