Would you hone these cylinders? Topend doesnt have more then 600 miles maybe on it.
I noticed a piece of my piston missing on exhaust side, so I tore it down to put new ones in. Cylinder walls look good, no gouges and not flaking. Can I just slap new pistons in or do I need them honed etc....?

Hone for sure with new pistons. That piston looks like detonation from too much cylinder pressure has occurred.

i would be more concerned about your detonation problem. New pistons and hone should be good. you were lucky this time, could be a lot worse if you don't stop the deto.

Had to many little problems that led to that. High intake temperatures, enough that it melted my hood wire harness. Exhaust leaks etc.
I'll get those fixed and should be a little easier to tune with less problems.
Those pistons probably didn't like seeing the high egts that I had either.
