The McCall Club was able to get permission from the State Lands Dept. to open up a new small parking lot just to the south of the Francie Wallace lot. It will allow access to the Brush Cr. trail on the east side of the Payette River by going south a ways toward McCall then take the road that loops around the north end of the lake over to the Brush cr. groomed trail. You can then access Pearl Cr. and the Box Lake areas. We will try to groom this stretch from the parking lot over to Brush Cr. Depends on the plowed berms, etc.
It has been graded but is not ready for use yet as we need some snow and then the ground to freeze, otherwise we will have mud. We hope to get some gravel next summer for the surface. We also need some signs as it is easy to drive right past it.
Please use it and the Green Gate lot as well as Wallace depending on where you are riding. The trail from the Green Gate lot is now opened up and will be groomed this year up to the normally groomed road going up on Brundage Mtn.
This will be on the next printing of maps sometime this winter, with the changes to the areas now closed to sleds by the Winter Travel Plan.
