New Nytro, New Rider, Blown out knee

I just bought a 09 yamaha nytro mtx as a hold over. Snow has been ****ty here but I wanted to get out and break the sled it as I had a trip planned to McCall next weekend. After about a half hour of riding I was transition from the edge of the trail back to the trail which was pretty much ice and transferred my weight at the wrong time and had a pretty fast tip over and blew out my knee. So my question is how do I get more front end stability on the trail, the thing rides like a 3 wheeler.

I would say get some wider arms.. I know zbroz has wider for the nytro which are popular and if you want something a little lighter timbersled also does I believe.. But I have the zbroz and it works awesome! And also you can probably put your stock skis in the wider stance by the shims that go in between the skis and spindle. But that makes a very small difference.
