The ones i like best are: Fourcast, Thunderstruck, 208 productions, 509 films, Summit HD films, and Schooled.
Now...having said that, There are a few things that are a bit disappointing to me.
1) the use of the same footage in multiple films. I know of 3 films from last year that used the same footage. Though it was a small portion of the DVD, it just seemed very odd to do this.
2) Music. I despise "head banging music" or that with political under/overtones, or words that refer to drug use!!. I know this is a personal preference, but just to give credit where it is due....Summit HD (2009), Thunderstruck (2009) and Fourcast (2009)....in that order...have the best music. Also i really, REALLY like the fact that some DVDs offer the ability to choose between "sled sounds and music", "music only", and "sled sounds only" (without any music). Sometimes i like to choose the last option so i can hear the throttle control these guys are using. That has been a great learning tool for me.
3) angling the camera to make things look steeper than they are. It makes me laugh sometimes when you see the trees in the background laying on their sides...and someone sidehilling across a near vertical slope...LOL. Sledheads 5 was a prime example of this last year. Had to tip my head sideways to get the real perspective....then i had a neck ache
4) Highlighting only one brand of snowmobile. There is 4 of them out there guys, and they all are great machines.... Need i say more?
Lastly, i want to give all of the film makers a big pat on the back!!! The bar has been set very high, and the competition is fierce in these economic times! They do a FANTASTIC job of getting awesome footage that inspires us all and gets us ramped up for the season when the weather is still hot.
CHEERS to you all!!!
