I'm 38 and have been riding for 3 years. Mostly trail riding with a little bit of hard earned experience in powder. Toward the end of last year I started to figure out how to initiate a turn in the powder by counter-steering. Sorta like a light bulb went off. This year I want to spend a lot more time in the powder and improve my riding ability.

With that in mind I decided to snowcheck a new sled ... a 2012 Polaris 800 RMK Assault. I am coming off a 1997 Summit 670, so it will be a whole new riding experience. I'm hoping the new sled will make riding in the powder a little easier for me.

I am currently deployed overseas with the military, so I won't get to ride my new sled until February. So until then I have to look at pictures of my new sled in the garage. Ugh!

Looking forward to my first ride but it's going to be a long few months until then!

Here's a picture of the new ride. Any tips or suggestions for a new powder rider or maintaining a new sled are appreciated.
