Hi-
I have a 17 KTM 450 SIx Days and just ordered the 137LE timbersled for next season.
Any must have parts, upgrades for that set-up? Spoke with the guys at ktmandhusky.com and they suggest ;The exhaust, big bottom kit, tps at .74 - .78 and fuel rail/90 deg combo kit and delete kit' - any other suggestions?

Your going to need some super stiff fork springs for those soft forks

.6 something most likely

Other then that and the stuff you already mentioned, you should be good to go

Hey that will be a great combo!
The KTM/Husky guys (Dave) have some good products, but I would avoid the TPS reset. It works great for the lean problems but, it will not help with the over fueling from the ECU when you have engine temp fluctuations below 160. I have and would use the remapped ECU from PR2 Racing, Snow bike specific. Here is a link to some discussion on it https://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=422901&highlight=PR2.

Also, rework the front forks, valving and stiffer springs, maybe build up a winter only setup and keep the stock for dirt. Some engine shrouding for the cold deep powder days. Heated grips or bars. Wrap around hand guards. Exhaust heat shield. Temp gauge or trail tech voyager with multiple functions including GPS. Wider foot pegs. Maybe a Rekluse Auto clutch (I like mine!). Pocket Battery to carry if the bike battery goes dead. (Unless equipped with a kick start).

Have fun with the project!:face-icon-small-coo

Long story, but the 450 Six Days bike I was going to pick up is no longer and I moved to a Husky 501fe - I have heard some good feedback on it from others who have this setup as snowbike. Most all said they did a gear change, thermobob and blanket. Thoughts?

Blanket kind of depends on where you ride. If you do the pr2 ecu I wouldn't bother with the thermobob. Airpro fork kit is a great alternative to 800 dollars worth of custom springs and valving. Big pegs are great, hand warmers I can take or leave them, 80% of the time their off, other 20% of the time they don't get warm enough anyway. Good handgaurds are a must, and I wouldn't live without a fan either.

Great info... for the Husky 501FE - so which would you choose the PR2 ECU or thermobob for performance and reliability? Are you liking the Airpro set-up. . Gear change?

My bike pulls real hard with the PR2 and 520. Gonna re gear it this summer for sure. Would like to be taller. 4th gear tree runs are so much fun. I would ride your setup before before regear, you may like it the way it is. I would suggest the PR2, the concept being that it remaps your bike to lean out and come up to tempature much faster, in essence making the need for a thermostat obsolete, with the mapping being setup to keep you at optimal temp. If you are in a real cold part of the world you may still enjoy some benefit from having both. I'd love to have the bike you chose, looks like a great platform.

And... I've had a great experience with the airpro. Easy install, dial it in for varying snow conditions or riding styles. To me with my limited knowledge seems like the perfect setup.
