New guy Minnesota

Hi everyone. New to SnoWest. Started riding the mountains in 98, been hooked since. when we have snow in SE Minnesota I ride there too. I had some good sources for snow conditions in the west but lately all I get is "come out, it's great" then get there and it's concrete or baren. like to ride the snowies, in the trees away from traffic, togwotee area, island park, and especially Wolf creek pass. Any info is appreciated, Thanks, Nate

The Bighorns is your closest bet. If they got 20 feet plus snow every year they would be the Midwest Mecca destination. My favorite to date is the Alpine/Afton WY area.
Of course the area with best snow is always the best ride. Best bang for my buck is Island Park/West Yellowstone. Another place we enjoyed greatly was Rabbit Ears/Hahn's Peak CO. My future hopeful is McCall and or Stanley ID. So many things to do. So little time and money. :face-icon-small-coo

Snow conditions.

Had some bad trips to the bighorns, never went back. Island park has been good. Been trying to get a group together to revelstoke. I'm heading to Togwotee or Island Park next weekend if they get the snow that's Powder Chasers predicts.

I'm heading to Revy next winter for 4-5 days of riding but I'm still very early in the planning stages of that trip. Not sure who (if any) from my normal group are willing to go but for me it's a bucket list type of trip. Depending on where the Snowest Canada forum trip is I might go there also.

Yeah, I understand your comments on the Bighorns. I would love BC, but I have to win the Powerball first.:face-icon-small-hap

Hey, I live pretty close to you I'm in Leroy, mn. We usually take two to three trips west a year, usually togwotee area, been to snowies , and rabbit ears. Agree on the snow conditions home it's been a while since we've had good snow that isn't rock hard in 5 days. Coincidentally I am also going to try to put a trip together to BC next year if I can get enough guys to go. Anyways welcome!
