new front bumper

just something I whipped up after destroying my stock '11 bumper, denting my pipe and cracking the plastic on both panels and the hood on a tree. You'll notice the little plastic block-off plates are missing. I need new ones but they will fit on there perfectly

So now I've eliminated the stock tube on the inside of the bellypan. It was not a very strong way of tying the bumper together and didn't really protect the bellypan and pipe at all. It won't be needed any more with the extra tubes in front.

Looks really good!! I've got the big polaris bumper and i destroyed it on saturday. I nudged a stump and broke it in two places. This is something i need! Let me know if you wanna sell any!

I'm headed out for 6 solid days off testing this thing tomorrow. I'm a tree magnet so we'll see how it holds up I'm sure. Haven't decided if I'm going to sell any yet. I will likely be making a few more for some local guys (prince george b.c.) so i will have a pretty good idea on how fast I can bang them out. Honestly not a huge priority right now because I do work full time but not out of the question if there's enough interest.

That bumper looks like it came off the set of a Mel Gibson sci-fi thriller. Which is a good thing.

well.....I would argue that the skins and the b&m doesn't really offer any extra protection over stock for the bellypan underneath the bumper. The little tube on the inside of the bellypan that bolts to the bumper is made of the same flimsy 1/16 material as the rest of the factory bumper and mine got destroyed from what I would consider a light impact. That's why I made this one the way it is with extra bellypan protection and the tube tying back to the rear of the bulkead from underneath.
Either way, aside from the so called "extreme" piece of crap, you will benefit greatly from any of the aftermarket options. The stock front and rear bumpers on these pros flat out suck.

PR, I'm not knocking your bumper at all. I will say that I don't believe that the belly pan really needs that. I have trashed a bunch of sleds and a number of bumpers over the years, IMO, the 2 that I mentioned give me the protection that I need, w/o being too bulky.

No worries breeze, didn't think you were trashing at all, just going by my own personal experience on what happened to the bellypan on my own sled. I saw the value in having a bit of protection down low. I have a warped bellypan now, which could have been avoided if I made this bumper earlier.
Cheers.

You could fill your top horizontal tube with epoxy and give it better resistance against tube wall buckling.

Destroyed another stock bumper today and dented another stock pipe...

Looking to buy two front bumpers-- how did your testing go?

Are you looking at selling any of these?

Thanks,
Murph
