New chain laws

Found these today. Perhaps it is old news but I found it significant.

Chain Regulation Expands
ODOT has amended the state's chain regulations to add a new snow zone condition. Under the new condition, you must use chains if your vehicle is: Rated 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW) or less and is towing. A single drive axle vehicle rated over 10,000 pounds GVW whether towing or not. Chains must also be used on the trailer or vehicle being towed if it has a brake that operates while in tow. More information including minimum chain requirements and examples of the snow zone signs is available under 'Winter Travel'.

we don't use chains up by diamond lake, we just slide all over the place;) eek, chaining up the trailer would really suck, glad my little trailer doesn't have any brakes on it. have been thinking about trying to load my sled in the back of my toyota just so i don't have to pull a trailer at all on bad days. just not sure if it has the power to go up the hill in 4wd with a sled in it...

Wish i had pics of my old Toyota with my sled in it. I had made a wood inserts in front of the wheel wells and a ramp that would slide under the sled after it was loaded,Fit perfect. I had oversized tires with a stock engine and it did fine with the sled in 4 wheel drive pushing lots of snow. Also with the sled in the back traction was never a problem.
