New campin' rig!

At the end of a nice 10 day holiday in BC with the ol' lady, we came across a deal too good to pass up....so the little Cheby 1/2 ton is gonna get a break from trailer towing/quad hauling duty and my sled trailer will start doing summer duty behind this rig with quads in er!

Vortec 7.4 and GM 4sp OD. with I used less fuel driving from Creston to home (650km) than I did driving home to Fairmont (450km) with the pickup towing the trailer. We had very specific requirements for our next rig.....the main one being the ability to park it behind my house....and this one makes it. (Its a 27 footer btw)

DRD: it's got heated tanks and is all insulated underneath....and I AM NOT driving it over the Roger's Pass in the winter! Maybe a spring ride though.....

Capt Jack: she's a bit lower than I'm used too....but most of the areas we head to now are pretty smooth getting it. None of the plumbing hangs down...the rear hitch will contact before anything important. I have that little 2 place enclosed trailer for sleds that I will tow behind for the quads now. My little Chevy truck is breathing a sigh of relief over not having to tow that load anymore!

nice, the thing that i have always wanted to know with these type of toys, do they stink inside because of the 2 stroke motors? and how much of a pain in the bu tt is it to unload and load everytime you want to sleep and use the tables? i like the idea, wife frowns on it.

I have only used it a couple of times BUT... There has been no smell AT ALL
when I opened it up after 3 hours of driving.
These are 4 strokes if that matters.
It has side vents in back and it seems to do a good job.
Just roll em in, lock the brakes and throw a couple of tie downs on.
I can lock the upper queen and lower the bottom one to any height with the quads still in if I wanted to.
I can load them and tie them down in 15 min. Plus carry so much more outher
crap its unbelivable. I keep everything in it. The only thing I have to pack is food and :beer; !!:D

My 2007 28' hauler is set up almost identical to IDAHDOO's, and absolutely love the setup. The smell isn't a bother since the only time the motors run on the wheelers is when loading them. To unload we just push them out. The tables and couch set up in a matter of about 10 minutes. Very simple setup and teardown. Cleanup is what I like, (and the wife), with an all vinyl floor you sweep everything out the back door, and your done. On board fuel station is cool, no more gas cans to lug around or spill. And when not hauling the wheelers it's a nice place for the bicycles and other junk.

btw, nice ride daveb
