New boots and gloves

After a whole day on the snow of avalanche rescue training I knew I needed new boots. The boots I had were the Gen I HMKs. I don't remember the model name but they were like a big snoboard boot, very stiff, very wide, hurt my feet and gave me hammer toe. They are however very high quality construction and very warm so I knew HMK was a good brand. I continued to wear them because they were lighter then Sorels. I found these boots and took a chance and ordered them. They are HMK Voyager lace ups. They make a knob and cable version but that looked like alot of stuff to tear up the seat. They showed up today and are very , very comfortable to wear and stand in, something the other boots never were. I also got some matching gloves.

Snoboy those are the same HMK Voyager boots that I have worn now on over 95 days worth of rides. Most of the time on the Polaris IQ RAW OR PRO which are notorious for eating you sole! That is a lifetime for most sledders. They are just flat out great all around boots. Riding, driving to the trail head, standing around in the snow, ect ect. Warm, dry, and most importantly TOUGH! Good as new...my next set will be the boa system Voyagers if these ever give up the go. The new Voyagers are even better with a more neutral position and the boa system that make them basically a very durable all around hike, play, ride, wear boot system.

Got to wear the new boots and man o man am I happy. They're warm, comfy as hell, light weight and I can friggen walk in them. Had to jump off the sled numerous times to check creek crossings and I was able to move around like I was in hiking boots. They are just stiff enough to feel like you have a little something extra on while riding. Great boots, would recommend them to any one.
Didn't try out the new gloves yet, I'll give them a try this week since I'll be riding all week.

Well I had several days in the boots and I'm really happy with my purchase. Super comfortable, easy to get on and off, they stay on the running boards, they're very warm and dry. The gloves...well they're just another set of gloves, good feel on the bars is about all I can say. I still like my Fly 907s better.

Looking for a new set of boots myself..... how do the sizes of these compare to your normal shoe size?
