New Belt??

- Wider belt seems to help primary shift out further (had more track speed)
- Less belt dust (probably just because side not wearing as bad as 166)
- After 90km ride, belt height in secondary still looks good
- seemed to slip a bit when left parking lot on first ride (-18 degrees), okay once belt warmed up.

So ya, I think its better then 166.

377

Same results as Bc-Xp. Rode today with it for the first time in 3 feet of heavy fresh and it definatly had more track speed than the 166. I Would have gone through 2 166's today just because of how hard the sled was working and the 377 looks brand new still.

Two days of riding in bottomless over the bars powder. The new belt is much easier to set the proper deflection. It hooks up well...not sure if it is that much better than the 166. No cords showing. No belt slippage. Belt stills looks like new.

Time will tell but I think we may have a winner.

I have been very impressed with my 377. Went through 3 166's in 3 days at the dootalk ride a few weeks back. I had to ride easy too knowing the blets wouldnt last. I now have 3 days of heavy deep snow riding on my 377 and it still looks perfect. I beat the shiz outta it today too.

how many guys have had the motor alignment checked--all of ours were off:confused:
377 belt 220 miles --like new

No alignment for me T/A. I ran 300 miles on my first 166.

I guess I will ran the chit out of this 377 and if it goes I will take it back to the dealer for a new belt and have them take a look at the motor.

Are you guys setting your deflection as per the manual, which states to put the cord flush with the top of the secondary? Or the "usual" method of flush with the bottom of the ribs?

Flush with the bottom of the ribs per dealer on the 377. Only the 166 should be set with the cord flush.

Roger that! My dealer thought it was crazy that Doo said to set the 166 like that. Anyone else run their's like the manual says?

2 154's running the new 377 belt we are getting a black mark 1/2 way up the pirmery clutch. Anyone else having this problem with the new belt? We have stock clutching.

I've got just shy of 100 miles on my 377. I did notice after my first ride on thursday that there was a black mark roughly 1/2"-3/4" up from the bottom on the primary. I cleaned it off, and after today's ride, it re-appeared. I just figured that it was from engagement. (Yes, deflection was set correctly.)

I did put 10 miles on my "backup" 166 belt today so it would have SOME break-in if I needed it. Belt worked fine, and looked fine, but I got paranoid and put the 377 back on when we hit the hills. The 377 does cause the clutching to act different, being a harder compound. I hammered on the 377 pretty good, no complaints here, but I was only riding in maybe a foot to 18 inches of dry powder on top of a good firm base. Nothing like what some of you guys run in...

My vote....377 = good belt!

I had black marks from the 166 about half way up I blew my 166 in 8 miles and put the 377 and now no black marks, better bite, dropped the R's (+better bite). Belt still looks good after one ride (nothing to brag about). Still runs way to much belt heat. Sled is going in for gearing under warranty which will help but I believe the real issue is in the clutching and the new belt is just something that can with stand the heat. Since BRP will not admit a crappy setup I am doing to strart with trying a differnt primary spring. (Already went to more pin weight before I rode it.) This is my first ski-doo since a 79 444 everest so I am learning:confused:
