New addition to my little family .17HMR

savage.jpg

Sporting the .17HMR tatical scope from Cabelas.

The gun is auctually a "kit" gun from Cabelas, it's blued not stainless like the picture above. I guess it's a Cabelas only thing??

Anyways the gun is a blast to shoot. I'm crazy impressed how it shoots

You should see what it does to small critters, ROFL

I'll take a pic of my auctual gun when I get a chance. I got a nice sling and added a bipod. It was nice that it came with two lugs on the front of the stock for sling + bipod

I'm going to hunt coyote and bobcats this winter with it when I ain't sledding (better yet I'll use the sled to hunt em)

anyone else got one?

You will love the gun!! I have a .17 Acculy, and a .17 Mach 3. Both with cheap brand turet scopes that go to 450 yards. brings the fun back to shooting. I keep one down at our lodge on our Hunting ranch for the clients and they have a blast. Get the turet scope, you can plink all sorts of stuff out to 350 and beyond with ease, just range, twist the dial to the range and shoot!

that is the most fun gun i have ever owned. i don't think i have even pulled out the .22 since i bought mine. turns sparrows to a cloud of feathers, rabbits heads just disappear. shot placement on larger animals is a must, if it hits bone it won't bring them down. shot a coyote in the head at 70 yards and the bullet did not go through his skull, but the 22-250 at 200 did:) also saw one take down a deer at 300 yards with one shot one day.

i LOVE mine! i have a Ruger and i LOVE IT! i can shoot gophers up 300 yards with ease and really screwes them up! it really likes the Hornady bolistic tips and i have tried CCI hollow points but it doenst like them as much! i dont think i have pulled out my .22 in the last 2 years cause of it. shells are kinda expensive but it is well worth it!

Got 4 in a magnum research and love them all, but surprisingly use my savage the most.

Sorry to say, Savage is probably the most accurate action out there :) Good pick my man

ditto on the hornady. a lot tighter groups, in my gun the cci's shoot low and to the right and don't seem to group as well.

Have you shoot the acculy or Mach 3!? if so how did the savage compare to those. Mine kick it! I have a .17 Mach 3 and then i have a .17 Acculy barrel on an TC Encore Endeavor and love it. I willl have to put the muzzle barrel on soon though for the hunts:(
