Looks like the part number for the Axys-mtn forged A-arms has changed.

2017 Part: 1824533-309 ASM-LOWER CONTROL ARM, LH, NATURAL
2017 Part: 1824534-309 ASM-LOWER CONTROL ARM, RH, NATURAL

2016 Part: 2206259-309 ASM., LOWER CONTROL ARM, LH, NATURAL
2016 Part: 2206260-309 ASM., LOWER CONTROL ARM, RH, NATURAL

the Uppers have changed as well.

I hope they have improved them (more resistant to damage).

Will be good to see what they acutually are when the consumer sleds arrive.

Would have been great if Polaris notified us of this change, if they are in fact stronger (considering myself and many others have already bought aftermarket arms), but I suppose that would involve them admitting the 16 ones were weak.

I was able to get one of the three I bent covered by warranty. The claimed it as a "courtesy" replacement and firmly stated that they did not consider the arms too weak. They were previously sticking to that story...

i don’t know.
all the ’17 sleds at my dealer look to have the same weak arms.
somebody will need to do a side by side comparison

From an OEM perspective, the least expensive quick fix would be to use the same mold and change up the aluminum alloy composition or tweak the tempering process. So, they may still look the same but the material could be significantly stronger. I'm hoping that's what they did, if the mold hasn't changed...

New part number is for the black a arms this year

I thought the same thing at first... but... the Black ones have a different part number from the "Natural" ones posted in the first of this thread.

Part numbers ending in "458" are black, "309" are Natural-aluminum.

Both finishes (black & natural) , however, have unique and new part numbers for 2017.

New part number or not, they'd still be the first thing I'd change out on a 2017 if I had one in the garage. :face-icon-small-dis

If the one they had at the booth of the Minnesota State Fair was a '17, which I think it was, the weak spot engineered in to the lower arm is still present. Maybe the material is different but I doubt it.

Just looked at the 2017s at haydays and the a arms look the exact same as the 16s only difference is you can get them in black also.

The one at the MN fair was a '16, even had custom electric tape over the gas cap

Still no part # for 15-- spherical bearing

Still no part # for 15-- spherical bearing

Hummm.... if no part # for spherical bearing, that leads me to believe these A-arms are indeed a new part. If they were a repeat of 2016, i would think there would be a part # for that bearing, since all sleds had them last year :)

We will see . . .

Thanks to my buddy I was able to get some comparison... They seam to be the exact design all though black... Now I guess there could be a change in the process or some measurement slightly different but look to be the same.

Polairs engineering tells me that the part number change was for a small change in the mfg tollerance of the pivot pins & washers.

So... change in the secondary machining of the forged arm... and not the forged arm itself.
