New 2016 SKS leaking oil

Hey guys,

Took delivery of my new sled and I should have checked but I have a small leak under the y-pipe

I barely used the sled (couple passes in the backyard)

Emailed the dealer which is 4 hours away and waiting to hear.

I attached a pic.

Thanks,
Mike

New sled will have oil rich fuel burn, and gasket not "broken in" yet...try not to take short rides on it, get some consistent time riding to burn through that first tank. Should help.

Thank you very much.

Glad to hear it's normal to a certain extent.

Merry xmas!

The donut gasket between the Y pipe and pipe will eventually heat and seat. If you'd like to avoid all of it from the start after you pickup a new sled, pull the pipe, clean everything well, RTV the donuts. Let it setup, ride. RTV the springs while you're there.

My 2017 was doing the same thing, when I pulled the factory pipe to put my SLP on I saw that the doughnut was actually put on wrong from the factory. There are two round indentations in the back of the doughnut that fit around the area where the flange of the y-pipe bulges at the seams at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Mine was rotated about 45 degrees and wasn't seated tight against the flange on the y-pipe, already had two pretty good gouges in the doughnut from the five minutes it's been run. I put some rtv on the back side and installed it in correct position, no more oily exhuast leak.
